i have an EV-180. its a good skimmer, but a drawback is that the water line must be below the output gate valve. i ended up building a stand for it, and have the skimmer behind the tank stand, with a little pvc slide from the gate valve back into my fuge.

not sure xenia fall under flourescent though? if they do, maybe i just never got the GOOD ones!! i will wait till you post LPS before i add more

Green star polyps are often flourescent green - yellow.

brake fluid. works wonders on paint.

does it appear to be a small leather coral? are there polyps that dissapear when it is touched? is it slimey?

hard to tell from the picture. is it soft?

thats not "wize" . its fiberglass on the inside of plywood. one side is glass. i believe one project is on this site. do a search.

you also have the option of making it plywood.

T-5 are great. i run 14 over my 150, and keep SPS (small polyped stony) corals, the most light-needy.

thats a bit much in that small of a tank. i would have just one cleaner.

maybe just having the tank empty wtih a bow on it could work out better in this case ? :) empty, or filled with some goodies (equipment) in boxes inside of it

they will stay to their own, but if their is a significant size difference, don't be surprised if the little one dissappears.

you WILL need to cycle. get yourself some test kits and test the water yourself, don't rely on anyone else's readings but your own. i would also ditch the emperor 400 in lieu of a sump / refugium. you can build your own from cheap materials and a small basic tank.

i live in south florida, i have noticed that in the winter, my tank evaps slightly LESS. probably because the AC is not running as much, sucking the moisture out of the air. and the overall house / tank temp is down a few degrees. oh yea and welcome to the boards :)

evaporation is a good thing. it helps keep your tank temp in check. and by encouraging it, you can cheaply keep the temp down without the use of costly and inefficient chillers and the like. my tank is over twice the volume of yours and i go through 5 gallons every 48 hours. if you dont want to...

yea sorry it wasnt me, i wish i was that creative. but it was a pretty perfect find, being that this guy was using them on trash cans. im going to HD to price out doing 9-10 1/2" bulkheads. i can get 9 of them shipped for $43 so we will see whats up.
