Any time I have questioned my tests, my LFS (Houston, not real local) has tested my water free. I immagine if I was in there every week wanting a complete test they might want to charge. They do have to pay for the supplies too, but as an occasional double check they do not even question it. cyn

What are you currently using to cycle? LR? I would say it depends on your water readings whether or not to add the shrimp. If you have not had an ammonia spike, then by all means toss one in. After it starts to decay some, remove it. cyn

There is a product called coral dip, I have never used it, but have heard it mentioned a few times. I read a bottle at the LFS and it is basically an iodine solution, so it may help if your coral does have some sort of infection. Wish I could offer you more, I feel for you! cyn
