Another way to add sand: Get a length of PVC pipe, 3 or 4 inches in diameter and about 20" long. Pour the sand down the pipe into the tank directing it where you want it. Much less mess this way. HTH, cyn

I think these are great! I have one for each tank, mag float brand. I think they were under $20 each, I honestly do not remember. The only thing to remember with them is that your rock and coral have to be far enough away from the glass for the magnent to get past. Cyn

If you decide to go with uncured LR, and cycle with it, I would not run the skimmer at first. Give it a week or two and then fire up the skimmer. Just my .02 cyn

The ammonia level you posted is way to high for most corals. I too wonder how old your tank is. Has it cycled? If so, look for something that is causing the ammonia spike. If you fix this and the colt survives the resulting water changes, you should be fine. In the future, try to test your...
