Wow~ Ive got something really awesome on my new rock. Got a 2 pd piece today - really nice slimy one (cured, just lots of algae) with lots of life on it and lots of FAT Copepods. (time to get my 3rd mandarin!) I peeked tonight and theres a 4-6 inch long TENTACLE! snooping around out of it. 1/4...

    Greatest Fish Game Ever!!

Full version is coming out soon. Usually a better game for a $20 code. We may have to all go in together! (if such a thing were allowed..) The seahorse doesnt need any attention and cant be killed, but helps you by feeding you fish. Oh, and I thought the snail was stealing $$ from you, but...

    Little White swirls on glass???

Ive had them for a month in my 70 FOWLR. They came in on the live rock. When I cleaned out my Fluval, I found that they were growing in the fluval sponge filters like a refugium. Next time you clean out your filter, get rid of them in there to. They're stubborn; I still have mine.

    Sea slugs??

    starter fish ick

Thats great advice - dont be impatient like I was. Take him up on it. Dont add any more fish EVEN IF YOU DONT CARE if thoses particular fish get it or not. This is because as long as there's a host in the tank for the ick, it will live on. Let your tank purge itself and enjoy inverts. Take time...

    cleaner shrimp...

Never had a problem with my sally and my cleaner shrimp. Coral banded shrimp, however are NASTY. Maybe thats why they're half the cost. Shame, they're nice to look at. They also attack arrow crabs.

What if you could start over?

I often think about starting over. Mainly to avoid the expensive mistakes I made and since they cant be undone, restarting would just be counterproductive. Besides, we made a commitment to the fish we chose to keep them (even though Zoos Pets buys them pack for pennies on the dollar) But in the...

What fish would go with . . .

What consequences! I love sea slugs/Nudis. Just be careful... I lost both of mine to the intake valve of my fluval. Sucked them to pieces. :( If I had a 25, I would have a pair of percula clowns, maybe a few catalina gobies, and then just concentrate on inverts. I enjoy...

    Attack of the killer eel!

That's true. Eels dont bite fish, they just swallow them. My ribbon's so thin that you can see the outline of the fish in his belly for 2 days!

    Attack of the killer eel!

My suggestion would be anything that does NOT fit in his fully opened gaping maw! Sounds sarcastic, but its basically all thats safe. My ribbon eel ate a couple of $30 fish that just fit nice and easy in his mouth!

How long will it take a juvenile queen angel to start changing color and shape?

Good Point. Not exactly sure what parameters of the water would slow the change... IE: high salinity slows or quickens... Things that make you go hmmmmm

How long will it take a juvenile queen angel to start changing color and shape?

angels are suppsed to lose their juvenile markings and change from14 to 18 months unless your water quality is poor. SLow change indicates poor water quality.
