OT: Cool ghost in the backgrround. Must have sound to hear the moaning...

You have to stare for at least 30 seconds . . . It really is spooky. . . Read the story below before you click on the link. Apparently the owners of this house had been seeing images and hearing voices for quite a while. They did some research and found that a lady once lived in the house who...

    Cooler water idea

I'm setting up a control test tank after reading all about the concerns. 10 ga tank with a .030 sg and 85 degrees. This tank is divided in to 3 isolated sections. In each I'm going to fully submerge different grades and types of metals to see what will work. I'm going to use ro/di water to...

    Help with sump/refugium setup

got it all on. 3 coats on everything. Looks super nice. Next weekend I'm going to try to move it in the apt. That is going to be a REAl challenge. The doors are only 6'8" high, the stairways have 3 180 deg. turns, and the entrence to my apt is on an angle. I've got 2 concrete workers, a...

    Cooler water idea

Well, this ia my idea for keeping the water cool with all halides. I'm going to use a new transmission cooler, 2 magnum 350's and 2 8" fnas connected to an electronic thermostat. works for a car, why wouln't work for a tank? Use 1 350 for pulling water put of the sump and pushing it into the...

    which hang-on skimmer?

Actually, Seaclons are hang on or sump. And, it was the old style that sucked. all the newer styles have been re-designed to be more effective. I clean out the collection cup once a week or so. as for the rest of it, I am yet to and it's been 8 months or so. Still works great. The best...

    which hang-on skimmer?

For a 46 I would recomend a Seaclone. They are silent and work great. You can pick one up for about 70 dollars. I've got one on my 40.

Why Isn't My Protein Skimmer Working?

The u tube should be full of bubbly water. If it's not, check the connection between the air hose and power head. Maybee it's not tight or right.

    fan location in canopy

What about the heated air in side there already? It's not going to flow out in a straight lie. It will swirl aroun and around. If you have them sucking out the heated air, you will pull as much of the warm air as the fans will blow. If you have them facing in, you will pull the air from the...

    fan location in canopy

I am going to have to do a rare thing(for me anyway). and disagree with Mr. Salty. By facing the fans in, you are essentially creating a blow dryer in your canopy. 1 in and 1 out if it's sealed (or close to sealed) and on oppisite sides. If it's open in back both out. You want to pull the...

    Foggy Water ....

My Seaclone (ok go ahead and chuckle), help make my water crystle clear. without it, I get a slight hayz. It's only a 40, but still. There are water polishers out there too. 1 micron filters that you can attach to a power head in your tank. Not the best idea, but it works.
