    HOB overflow box help

Can you go to a larger sump? The reason I ask is because I first started with a 10g sump for a 29g tank. After a while, and when I thought of enough changes to make it worth while, I switched to a 20g sump. I'm not trying to decide if I want to put a 20g sump (that I already have) or build a...

    New SH's look sick?

I concur with everything that Tom and Teresa have stated. Seahorses can be stubborn when it comes to their food. I was given a seahorse that would not eat frozen at all! It took me 5 months to get her to convert to frozen (thankfully I'm more stubborn than she is)! You can't give up.

A “display” refug and SH anyone done it?

+1 on what Teresa said. If you have any SPS, your water would probably not be clean enough for them to survive and of course the temperatures of a reef tank are an issue. If you are going to go to all the trouble of setting up this 'display' refug, why not just set up a system for the horses...

My dad found a cool dog.

He's probably lonely and bored at home with no one to play with. You're his new friend and playmate during the day.

    I'm moving but I'm not

Okay, everything (except corals) has been transfered over. Because of the cloudiness of the water, I couldn't see to get the corals in. Tomorrow afternoon I'll acclimate them and start to transfer them over. Thanks for your help Flower!!

I hate frag plugs, I need a creative solution.

When I buy corals, I usually like to buy frags. I'm sure that my tank would probably look better if I bough full sized corals, but I like to see them grow. I hate frag plugs. I know that the coral should eventually overgrow the plug but I hate looking at them until they do. Does anyone do...

    I'm moving but I'm not

Thanks for the info. I was hoping not to have to do it in one day. That way I could do the aquascaping and then look at it with fresh eyes the next day to see if I like where everything is at. I guess I'll just have to be decisive!

    I'm moving but I'm not

I have an empty 10g, should I move the corals that I can over to it, fill it with the 30g tank water and put a powerhead in it? What other kind of filtration would I need to get though a week or two?

    I'm moving but I'm not

You'll see. I won a really cool 60 gallon setup from Marineland in a raffle! I'd like to use it to upgrade my reef tank which is 30 gallons. I know I'll need more rock and sand but I'd like to use the rock and sand in my 30 gallon. I also want the 60 gallon to go where the 30 gallon...

    Is it Ok?

I didn't have to read far on that list to think to myself, 'no way'.

    Where is everyone.

I can't imagine 10 days without the internet! OH MY! I'd be camping out at Starbucks until it was fixed.

    Where is everyone.

10 days! Yikes! You must have a generator then?? I've been thinking about getting something, probably one of those things that you hook up to your car battery that converts to 110. The only outages that we usually have are during the summer from brown outs. Unless of course we get the big...

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that you've lost one.

    Green BTA problem

What type of lighting do you have? White isn't a color that we should see on BTA. If your anemones are pale or even white, that isn't healthy. Anemones need strong lighting, like in MH. The shriveling up and brown stuff is it getting rid of waste products. It turning white is what concerns...

Modifications to Aquapod for Dwarf Seahorses

LOL! No problem. It gave me something to do (I put off doing something I didn't want to do so it was a win-win). I like the extra flow that is created with the two spray bars. It's not too harsh but it keeps everything moving. I do have some seahorses that LOVE being in the flow. They will...

Modifications to Aquapod for Dwarf Seahorses

That new little chiller looks neat. I wonder how it would fit onto an aquapod with the lid closed. I've haven't had a problem with the clogging. I use a toothbrush to clean the divider. I had some caluerpa in the little fuge but when I saw it starting to grow into the little holes I took it...

Modifications to Aquapod for Dwarf Seahorses

This is what I've found to work but if anyone has any thoughts on what might make it even better, I'd love to discuss them.

    Thinking zots

Okay, I've started a thread here with photos: https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/t/367287/modifications-to-aquapod-for-dwarf-seahorses Since I still feel like I am learning, if anyone has any input on what might make my tank better I'd be interested in your thoughts.

Modifications to Aquapod for Dwarf Seahorses

Finally, here's a top-view shot of everything. Of course with the lid on you can't see all the hoses. I really like the look of the aquapods. I don't know if this is the choice I would have made for myself but since it was a gift, it was worth the work in making the modifications and the added...
