So lose the UV aquasun and use the purple + and use the ATI Aqua blue???

Well I just figured with all the blue the UV aquasun would help make it not so blue. I like the blue and all just figured it might be too blue. With the setup you suggested wouldn't there only be 2 full spectrum bulbs is that ok?

2 uv aquasun 10000 2 ATI blue plus 2 ATI True Actinic 03 Just Need Help With the last 2 bulbs ATI Aquablue 15000 or UV Aquablue 14000. The UV bulb looks like it has a wider spectrum.

I read a few things nothing with 8 bulbs but ill just try a couple things out!!!!

Try moving them closer to the surface. I had a similar problem and all I did was move me powerheads up to get more movement on the top and it hasn't come back.

What are you running for powerheads?

Should I throw maybe 2 giesemann midday bulbs and take out the true actinics or the blue plus?

I have a eight bulb set-up and it's time to get some new bulbs. I should add I have a few lps and mushroom corals and am looking to get more in the near future also. I was thinking about ATI 2 True actinic, 2 blue plus and 4 aquablue special which I think are 12,000. Would appreciate any opinions.

I agree the fish always look horrible every time I'm in there. I've often thought if I had more free time I would get a part time job there just to get the tanks looking better.lol. There systems are pretty good they just don't maintain them by the looks. Congrats at finding a good one.

Changing the sediment filter brought it down to 002 so maybe when I get the carbon filters that will put it at 0. Do you think maybe buying the DI part will help not having to change it so much? Four months seems way too soon.

I took apart my RO system the sediment filter looks brandy new. I have to order new carbon filters but I will. I changed the sediment one anyway. I tried some stop and shop water I had but it read like 23.

Yea mine has a screw in the back. I went to there site and it said they sell a solution that reads 332ppm to calibrate but if we know that distilled water reads 0 I can just use that right or should I change the filters and see if it reads 0???

Yea it seems to be the same red color but looks like a film. The slime seems to be getting all in the chaeto as well. I just cut the time down on the sump from 12hrs to 8hrs to see if that might help. I have to do a water change next week so when I do that ill see if I can't skim some of it off.
