    Lta

http://saltaquarium.about.com/gi/dyn...%2F032698.html check that site out. It lists natural hosts and other generally accepted ones. Well I just moved from a 30 gallon to a 58. I have a cpr bakpak skimmer and 4 rotating power heads on diy pvc pipes with holes (theory being that the holes in the...

    Lta

    Lta

Nice pics! I've only been into saltwater for a year and a half now, and have tried damn near every anemone out there and I've had the best luck w/ the BTA . If you are going for your first anemone I'd go for the BTA.

Breaking in a tank with Clownfish

My friends and I have used damsels, triggers, and even black mollies! Damsels usually make it through. My undulate trigger scoffed at the cycle and said you can't hurt me. The mollies will usually last long enough to get the job done being that they are somewhat brackish anyways. Clowns I would...

    aptaisia

I second that......peppermints will munch away. Sometimes it takes a while for them to notice the aptasia, but once they do it will almost disappear over night.

    Post Removed????

I had a post on average prices and when people starting talking about other online sites or places to buy it got zapped. I understand they don't want to advertise for the competition, but an email letting me know would have been nice.

    Do you think?

Dockery: I think it could be done but I wouldn't try it without battery powered airpumps for the fish and some way of stabilizing the corals in buckets so they don't get thrown around during the trip.

    Is this ok to do?

A large system could handle something small like that, but if you can get it out it would be best.

    Good deal?

Sounds like a good deal. Water is like 8 lbs per gallon so a 55 would weigh 440 lbs + another say 100 for lr and live sand. So only 550 lbs or so. That's really not that much weight. I have a 58 on second floor of my house w/ no problems. Just think two fat people sitting on the bed or one...

    Clown Question

Pakman: Your best bet is a bubble tip. Percs will take to sebaes, but the sebaes aren't nearly as hardy as the bubble tips. It took my clowns almost a month and a half to notice my bubble tip, but when they did they it was like flies on stink! Carpets and condis move too much and will disturb...

How did my cleaner shrimp die

What else do you have in there? I lost a couple cleaners and was beginning to think it had to be the water quality. Turned out it was a pseudochromis w/ a taste for cleaner shrimp.

Neighbors moved and now we have a problem...

Very few pesticides will do damage to spiders. Why not try baitraps for the roaches first?

    How often do.....

Well the dark spot in many aquatic animals is a sign that they are pregnant, but I'm not sure about the cbs. My roomates cbs has been in his tank for over a year know and has always had a dark spot in the abdomen area.

For people in DFW & Houston Area

DFW Yeah Dallas North (Trinity Mills) Carrolton is very nice , but pricey! My favorite is Planet Pet in Bedford. I bought a clump of xenia there for 24.99 that was priced 99.99 at Dallas North. The staff at both stores are also very nice and well informed. Both have great selections but DN...

    Easy Corals?

I agree w/ the polyps. Leathers have done really well for me when nothing else would. I've had a little trouble w/ yellow polyps, but the buttons are really tough. And mushrooms are really easy too.

    Diy Refugium?

Anyone have any ideas on where I might be able to obtain a plastic or acrylic box approx. 6" x 18" x 18" for a hang on refugium. I just hate to spend $129 for one when that costs less than half that to build.

    leather coral

I've got a large leather and have cut pieces off of it or it will expand and knot up and drop little pieces. I've "planted" the little pieces in my new tank and both my roomates tanks and they all have reattached and seem to be doing very well. If your water is good and you have strong light...

    Cleaner shrimp and ick

jkick, So how do you catch all your fish w/out removing everything? I just thought it would be easier to try the shrimp first? I've caught fish for ich quarentine before and it was a royal pain in the ass. Everything had to be taken out to catch them all, and for those of us w/ out 5 tanks to...

    Cleaner shrimp and ick

IT IS NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE TO ERRADICATE ICK! You would have to catch every fish in your tank and move them into quarantine, and for at least 30 days so the parasites in the tank will all completely starve out. And sure enough as soon as you introduce a new fish or even liverock from a tank w/...
