    24g Aquapod lighting upgrade

What do you have now? They come "stock" with 64w PCs, 70w MH, or 150w MH. There is a 108w PC upgrade if you don't want to go to the 150w halide.

    good news and bad news

Last weekend I got a whole butt-load of coral for a local reefer moving to strictly SPS. The other day I was moving a few of them around, adjusting my water flow, etc trying to keep everyone happy. The result: some very happy corals, especially my frogspawn and hairy mushroom, but also 1 broken...

Hey Mods: can I complement an online retailler?

I recently purchased an RO/DI filter from an on-line retailler. All they do are RO/DI units and related equipment. I had a very good experience... and since it's rare that a company meets my standards for service, I'd like to give them a little word-of-mouth promotion. Is that acceptable, or...

    New BTA in my 20g...

In the future you may want to do a bit more research before you purchase animals, especially anemones. Yes, the anemone can (and I'd be surprised if it doesn't) kill the polyps it is touching. The bubble tip is not a natural host for percs, but they do occasionally take to them in aquariums...

hot or cold water to RO/DI unit?

I don't have the option of hooking into a faucet for luke warm water, so am I better off hooking into the hot water line or the cold water line?

    1 month old 12g Aquapod

ah, gotcha. Well, just for your reference, I've got about 15lbs in my tank (including some rubble in the middle two filter chambers).

    1 month old 12g Aquapod

wow - sweet deal on the cleaner shrimp. Be careful adding the new rock. Make sure it is RIGHT out of a tank, cured and everything. Adding rock is a very easy way to recycle a tank, and your livestock will not appreciate that. Also - if you already have 8-10lbs now, that must be some pretty...

    1 month old 12g Aquapod

Looks good. As long as your water params are at acceptable levels and stable you're in good shape.

    nano newb =)

Edited because I misread the post... You can definitely have a halide in a closed top - just make sure there is space between the bulb and the water and the canopy. Also make sure there is good airflow in/out of the hood to keep temps stable.

Most gobies aren't considered jumpers, to my knowledge at least. Smaller clowns, maybe a 6-line.

I've been pretty happy with my aquapod (mine is a 12g though). There are a few things you can do to make them better than stock, but they are nice systems right out of the box. My biggest complaint is that they are acrylic, and acryilc scratches too easily (I have 2 young kids). Let me know if...

Full Tank Shot - my aquapod 12

The tank is 5 weeks old, and almost all of the frags are from local reefers - I never could have done this relying solely on the LFS. I have 54w of PC (27w actinic, 27w 10k). Yes, the maroon will eventually outgrow the tank, as will the dwarf lion. But it's all taken into account in my long...
