Water changes - how do you not stress your fish?

You can do siphon, Just go to like home depot or lowes and get some clear tubing. Or like I do just get like a half gallon pitcher and fill out of the bucket with it a pitcher at a time

    Question for you RO/DI users

I've heard some people use it to water plants, cooking, or anyother way you use water that doesn't need to be hot. You just need a place to store it.

    7+ week cycle...little progress

Not sure if anyone else mentioned it but I would get the undergravel out before you put anything else in there. Undergravel filters trap all the bad stuff with no way of getting it out.

What are your water parameters? How often do you do water changes? You may have high phosphates due to tap water.

    Chocolate Chip Star

they are scavangers and eat anything they can get to. So I would sometimes go a month without feeding it sometimes. I would say as long as it's moving around and looks healthy it's doing fine.

    Zoo's and lighting

You would go by whats in your tank because that's what your lighting. Watts/g isn't real measuring unit lights vs. amount of water. you really are looking for a par value based on your tank dimensions if you get what I'm saying without getting into it too much.

    Chocolate Chip Star

when I had one it would hang off the top of the tank and that's when I would feed it.
