I use the Kent liquid calcium one capful weekly and also add one teaspoon of Seachem buffer weekly. Seems to keep level fine for my softie reef, everything thriving. :)

I'm not recommending this but i know a guy who used a blow-gun to get his damsels out. I didn't believe him until i saw him in action, speared it right at the start of the caudal fin, the fish actually was resold by the LFS :eek:

I agree with the Leathers, very hardy and do well under low light conditions. I would also suggest green star polyps, and xenia both of which are thriving in my 42 gallon hex. However i think you need at least a couple of PCs to succeed, ditch the NOs :D With the PCs you can place leathers...

My xenia do well in moderate light and moderate current, in fact they seem to reach into the current from time to time. I don't feed them, good water quality and lighting is all they need.

I have a red sea star that climbed all over the LR the first day i put him in the tank, now he stays on the glass at the top of the tank and doesn't venture far from where the powerhead is pointing. Unless he moves at night he's been on the glass for going on two months. HTH.

I agree with the copper being a likely culprit. Since you are using tap water i would suspect this as your source of copper. Most homes are plumbed with copper since the 1970s. My dad was a plumber, he comes in handy with this hobby <img src="graemlins//silly.gif" border="0" alt="[silly]" />
