Just curious - what kind of clown were you thinking of? That makes a difference.

    What are the chances?

HiddenIcon, I know what it's like to be a "newbie" and want so many things for your aquarium that you can't have because of space, equipment or $ (in the case of your PCs). I also know how it's easy to look for an answer you were hoping for from one person and do it even though 3 dozen other...

now that the monster is gone

I had a killer crab, too! Luckily I was watching my tank one evening after I fed the fish and a nassarius snail came out of the sand and started searching for food and BAM - the killer crab struck and killed the snail. Then my peppermint got close and he tried to grab him. He got away but it...

    Fighting Conch under ground!!!

When I first got my conch - I had a diatom bloom. Got the conch and it cleaned it right up! Now, 4 weeks later, it just stopped, moved under the sand, and hasn't moved. Now I'm getting diatoms back. Darn conch! Get a move on! :cheer:

Good fish to jump start a cycle?

Guppies will not work in saltwater --- The reason that Mollies work is because they are brackish fish (meaning between salt and freshwater). They can be slowly acclimated to saltwater. Guppies are freshwater fish. They will die in saltwater.

    The best snails

Only 3 or 4 turbos for a 75 gallon? No way! I have a dozen for a 45 gallon and I would get more. There's always something for them to eat and they keep the tank sparkling. I would recommend like 20 turbo snails...:happyfish

    Bugs on the glass

My watchman is pretty new - so he's a little timid. He'll move out from his "cave" a little but the second I move near the tank, he darts back in. Darn little thing! I want to see him! :joy:

    watchman goby losing color

Watchman gobies are known to lose their bright yellow coloration as they age. The blue dots should get brighter, however, with age.

Where Can I Get A Mated Pair Of Black And White Clowns

The longer you wait to put them together, the more likely they are not going to pair up. It's easiest to get them at the same time with a little bit of a size difference and introduce them at the same time.

They're too young to breed. But they paired up and swim together.

Where Can I Get A Mated Pair Of Black And White Clowns

The easiest way is to get two small ones and they will probably pair up. I got two from Tropicorium for $36. This site sometimes sells them - usually they're on "wish list".

help with first tank- what to buy!

Sorry. Didn't know what you were looking for... It's hard to answer this questions because when you go cheaper - it's all relative to the hobbyist if it works or not. Asthetics start to lack as well as being able to be a reef tank. I don't think you would be able to get a reef under $500. With...

help with first tank- what to buy!

Check your newspaper in the classifieds for tanks for sale. Often they are selling whole setups that will really help your budget. In my paper I once saw a nice 75 gallon setup for only $400 --- they had been trying to sell for a long time and really cut the price. So it's worth checking out...
