If that will be the only heater you will be using for the whole set up, then you would need enough wattage to heat 101 gallons (the tank and the sump) ...if I'm understanding what you are asking correctly.

If you have nitrites still, then eventually they will turn into nitrates. That would give you a higher nitrate reading later on (unless you have been doing water changes) Is that what you were asking?

The ich lifecycle last for 4 weeks or so. Without having a fish to host it, it will die off in that amount of time. It stinks to get ich. I've been there before too ( along with a lot of others on here) Good luck!
