Maybe you could look for an anemone substitute. My Ocellaris clowns like to use green star polyps for their host.

In my experience, if a clown is using the anemone as its host, it'll keep any and all "hasslers" away..

LOL you've got me there sw, I've only got small tanks. But I am basically in agreement with you. I think if you add enough of a biological filter you can have the same experience in a smaller tank as well. When I wasn't certain whether one of my tanks was cycled, I added a half a cocktail...

Couldn't you just add some fish food to test it? If the tank "processes" the food without causing a spike, it's probably good to go...

Coralife makes a 96 watt aqaulight that fits on a 10 gallon tank, that would probably meet the lighting needs. I also shy away from the thought of having an anemone in a 10g, basically due to water quality. What do you do to keep your water pristine in your tank?

I think a few water changes might be a simpler and safer way to get water parameters back to normal since it's jusrt a 20 gallon tank... just my opinion.

I think the really important question here is which of your neighbors knows enough about bongs to see the resemblance?

I have a yellow watchman goby who has no problem staring down a Maroon Clown when she gets to close to the goby's "burrow" - it's paired with a Tiger pistol shrimp.

I have no personal experience with this, but my understanding is that you'd typically end up with about half one color and half the other.
