Here is my canopy.. The Baalasts are wired remotely in the stand.. all wires run down the side through a PVC Chase . the fan runs into the Timer with the first set of VHO..I Did not have much room Either But did fit 4 vho and 2 mh my tank is only 18 Wide also...

Front Veiw.. My stand is MDF Corver sheets and 2x4 supports with 1x6 cross ribs for support... The key is how you build the stand for rigidness. I would use 2x4 in my opinion... They are plenty strong enough .. 4x4 are overkill.. Let room in stand also,,, 2x4 is all I used for support on this...

Dear Mike. I would Not use MDF for the Base or shelf But I would use Ply wood. Any fee standing water will evenuallty seep into the fibers and weeken the borad. Use for sides and and doors. Vertical planes Not Horizontal..

I have this kind of Xenia and yes it will take over a tank.. You do not need to feed directly or at all for that matter. it gets all it needs from the water changes.. IMO...There are some that do not grow as fast... I have three types. The one you show and the Brown Elongata, and a bright white...
