Hey this is the 5th day of running my tank,and i allready have some macro algae in the sump. i was wondering if it is any good to have that during the cycle. should i keep it in there or throw it awway(its becoming a nuisence*sp with all the branches of it gettin in the filter and clouding up...

i had the same problem with that skimmer, you have to adjust it to flow as little as possible and adjust the venturi so it doesnt let too many bubbles in there. also one thing you can do is there is a little plug on the lefthand side of the collection cup, and what you can do is put an air...

Thanks for all the comments Its been running for about 5 days now. what i plan on keeping after the cycle so far is a maroon clown with bta, and a coral beauty, maybe a six line wrasse and some other stuff, not quite sure yet. :happyfish

you added them before you did the cycle? my lfs said they wouldnt survive

is it okay to have 2 peppermint shrimps at the same time??

great pic its got to be it, im jsut gonna wait till the cycle is over and get a peppermint shrimp. any other suggestions anyone else ever have a problem with the majano??

Thanks for the replys, here is a better pic. its got to be the aptasia, there are like 5 or 6 and ive only had the tank setup for 2 days! do you think they will survive the cycle? if i get a peppermint shrimp will that survive the cycle? Thanks!!

thanks for the quick response, i looked up the mejano, it doesnt have a stem at all and the tips arnt green, they are more of a whiteish brown. here is a pic Sorry for thebaad quality, its so tiny i couldnt get it zoomed on it at all this is the smaller one of the bunch

oh yeah and every once in awhile the center of it opens up or something and it is neon green. anyone know of anything that sounds/looks like this?

lenin just go with a blueline ext. pump, its very quite and very nice quality. other than that there isnt much noise at all.

hey i have a bunch of brisstle worms in my new system and i was wondering if they have any natural predators. do any of you know a good reef species that will help control the population of worms??

no they are most def. bristlewormsm, it says they arent that bad. i suppose i will just try and keep them in the sump. do any of you know their natural predators? anything i should know about bristleworms? Thanks in advance :joy: :joy:

couldnt seem to find any matches it sounds most like flatworms. have any of you ever had these types of worms in your tank?? have they posed any problems? im just a little concerned cuase im just now starting and i dont want to introduce a pest like this.
