Based on the pictures at: http://www.gastropods.com it definitely is a murex. The closest I found to the one I have is a Burr Murex. He's busily exploring the inside of a measuring cup right now. They sure can move fast! I take it that he is a candidate for the trash can?

Along with my Eva LR, I had about a dozen of these shells. As near as I can tell, they are some form of Cowrie. I also had a dozen or so mussels, the same kind on the piers in Southern Calif. 3 have stayed alive so far and are wandering around. Are they bad? reef friendly?

soooo, If it looks like kelp, feels like kelp and tastes like kelp..... maybe it is kelp? Maybe this saltwater stuff is easier than I thought :)

Can anyone please identify these plants? They hitchiked on some Eva LR that I just put in. I'm not sure how the photos will show up but the color is the same as kelp (brownish - golden). Next question is: Should I keep them and see if they live? Setup: 125g reef that has only been setup for 3...
