    dumb question?? maybe??

Can someone tell me if it is normal to have a air bubble at the top of the U shape tube which brings water from the tank to the overflow box. I haven't been sucessful in getting rid of the bubble and I see that it limits the flow of water into the overflow box.

    dumb question?? maybe??

Another option is fill the U shape tube with water and cover the ends with plastic wrap. Put the tube in place and then pull of the plastic wrap the same time, it will start the flow. This way you spare yourself from drinking salt water. The only drawback is that there is air bubble at the...

    food for clowns

I got my clowns 2 days ago and they are not really eating. I noticed that they are toward the middle of my tank (height wise) and they don't swim to the top to eat the brine shrimp flakes and they don't search the bottom of the tank for the pellets that sank. They only catch the food as it is...

just started my cycle with live rock, no readings?

I started my cycle 3 weeks ago and I am not getting any ammonia, nitrate or nitrite spikes at all. I put in a shrimp and a couple of shrimp shells in my tank for 6 days now and no spike at all. My water is turning quite yellowish. I think it is from the live rocks curing. I have a 46 gallon...

Where do I add the carbon? I have a wet/dry Pro Clear Aquatic Systems filter. I was told that the live rocks are partially cured. It had a bit of black spots on the rock that rubs off. I am surprised that with all the live rock and live sand my ammonia level did not jump yet after 2 weeks...
