The phos-zorb sponges do work well too, mine was an aquarium pharmasuticals brand. I had started with tap water (didn't know any better), it took it about two weeks, but got my levels down to zero.

I have been told on this board before to add a rio 800 to my bak pak skimmer to make it work better. My question is does the normal 800 come with all the venturi stuff that the 600 did? And do they have the same size outlets?
