    Help w/modifying sump

I have made a couple of modifications to 1. Make everything fit, and 2. Include baffles before the return to reduce bubbles. Baiscally, the HOB fuge will cover 2 sections, the intake on the HOB fuge will take water from the small fuge in the sump, but will drain in the compartment with the...

    Help w/modifying sump

I was just planning on using the middle section for heaters etc. I was going to put some live sand and rock in it, but no lighting, so it probably will grow pods too, I am going to light the hob fuge and add chaeto. I purchased the hob fuge used, so it's mine, but I like the idea of using it...

What kind of corals w/this lighting?

Sounds good. It's probably best to go ahead and upgrade if it doesn't jeopardize my marriage . As for the ballast, I did some searching last night and came to the same conclusion, it's not that great of a price since no bulb is included. Thanks

What kind of corals w/this lighting?

Thanks for the advice. Let me ask this. I can purchase one icecap 250 retro kit including reflector for 105.00. It's 2 years old, and does not include bulbs. As a temporary solution, can I add it w/the 2 175s to get by. Also, does this sound like a good price? Thanks.

What kind of corals w/this lighting?

I was wondering what my limit would be for the following lighting in a tank I'm purchasing. It has a canopy and in it are 2 175 MH and 4 110 VHO's. If I'm extememly limited, I could upgrade the MH ballasts to 250's but I hate to spend the money now if the current lighting will work for most...

    Help w/modifying sump

Hi, I've been posting some questions on the board about a 180 that I'll be picking up in a couple of weeks. The tank is corner drilled. Before I set it up, I think I need to modify the sump. Right now it is just a 40 gal breeder tank. It is open (no baffles) just the sump, drain lines and...

How big of a water change

I'm planning on using her water to keep the live rock completely sugmerged for the trip instead of wrapping it in wet paper. I want to try and keep it as alive as possible for the trip. I think I'll set it up, monitor it for about a week, if a cycle starts sell of her fish or take them to a...

    Strange Hitchhiker, Please help identify!!!!

I'm upgrading in about 3 weeks to a 180, I'll probably move my tank in about two weeks to make room for the new one. I'll probably wait till then as it's been there for about a year and I hadn't noticed it until looking for my cleaner. Once I do, I'll be sure and take some good pictures and...

    Strange Hitchhiker, Please help identify!!!!

Yeah, it's not a feather duster, I have a few of them. The tube almost looks like a gell or something, but I haven't touched it, and on the end I can see, it's fully enclosed, the red thing, moved slowly, almost like a worm, or even at the speed of a coral closing as it backed away from the...

    Strange Hitchhiker, Please help identify!!!!

My concern is that this was the area the cleaner shrimp hung around in before it dissapeared.
