    Success!!!!

Thanks. Yeah our False Perc pair just want to hang out behind a PH all the time. They did come out once last night to see what the B&W was doing around the LTA. It really surprised me how quickly he went to it.

    Success!!!!

After several days hoping my False Perc pair would decide to host my LTA, our LFS received a B&W Oscellarus (sp?). My son had been wanting a B&W and I have to admit that I was really impressed with this one. Well, we picked it up and introduced it into the tank last night. To my surprise and...

    Puffers vs. lions

I just added a Blue Dot Puffer with a Fuzzy Dwarf Lion. So far no aggressive behaviour between them that I have noticed. But I have to admit that I had started doing as unleashed suggested already. Instead of doing feedings every other day, I have been doing smaller feedings daily. Maybe...

    BTA ate my cleaner shrimp

Don't have any suggestions, but I can definitely sympathize. I never really concidered this possibility, but I was watching the tank today and our cleaner shrimp was scrambling around like usual around the rock pile that our Green Carpet is anchored to. He happened to brush one of his 'feelers'...

    Setup? Conflicting Info!!!

From what I have gathered, this book and many others were written during a time when it was widely accepted to use damsels to cycle the tank. Now it is generally discouraged although many LFS, mine included will recommend this.

    125 on Carpet with padding......

Don't forget about the tack strip around the perimeter of the room. You'll need to make sure the tank is far enough from the wall that it is not sitting on the strip or it could throw it out of level. If it is in a basement, I would likely check for the levelness of the floor anyway. I know in...

    Spotted Sweetlip

Definitely a gorgeous fish, but I wouldn't put it in that small of a tank. My wife saw one at our LFS a couple weeks ago, when I researched it everything says it grows between 2' and 3'. Definitely not suited for a small tank. And yes, my wife was very disappointed to find this out

    My 210 Pics

The cabinets look great. I was wondering how you went about hiding the Lifeguard setup. Yeah, I love the lifequard system. Wish I had had my tank drilled so I could run that. I know I could probably use a HOB overflow, but not really wanting to try it without a drilled tank. Of course if all...

    Atlanta Aquarium

Were you able to fit it all in in a day? We are thinking about taking the kids down there and figured we should probably make a long weekend out of it to fit everything in.

sweet pic of a red knob star

Definitely awesome looking!! Our LFS got some in last week that we checked out. Too aggressive for our tank, but still hard to make the decision to pass on this one.

    Copper Pipping

Yeah, I should have included additional info to my other post. That event actually happened about 14 or 15 years ago. Within the last 5 or 6 years residents have been receiving H2O quality reports mailed to them annually. Didn't mean to be misleading, that was just the first thing that came...

    piranna

I had one many years ago and it was far from a voracious eater. Hard to get it to eat at all. I think most people expect to be able to through in a drumstick or something and see it cleaned in less than 5 seconds. That 'feeding frenzy' I think is only seen in very large groups.

    WOO HOO I did it!!!

I've been using a freshwater dip with Methylene Blue for 2 - 3 minutes for my new fish before added them to my tank. Fish have tolerated it very well. Have read a lot of pros for these dips but like anything I guess you will see arguments for both sides.
