When you stop adding lr the cycle will begin. Uncured lr will have a lot of die off which will keep your ammonia very high. This should solve your problem.

There is no possible chance Windex can seep through the glass. It would be physically and chemically impossible. The only way it could "seep through" is if you sprayed the Windex near the tank and some mist entered the water. I also use Windex to clean the glass.

Are you talking about a 3/5 striped damsel? If you are I wish you luck. I had one and he was a real jerk. Any new fish I put in the tank he would terrize(sp?). I had to grt rid of him. Good luck!

Be careful if you decide to use Cycle. You must refridgerate that stuff after you open it or it will turn toxic. I recommend not using it just to be safe. Let nature do it naturally.

I figured it out!!! I had removed the turbo venturi cap. I thought that was there for shipping purposes. I put it back on and millions of bubbles appeared. Thanks for all your help Diatom. I really appreciate your help and concern. ;)

You got that right, the instructions really do suck. I tried blowing thru the venturi tube to see if it was properly connected and I did get bubbles to form in the tube. The only thing I really got out of the instructions was to take out a plug where the venturi tube goes(which I did). Are...
