    Protein skimmer, or no?

Yeah, I do regular water changes, and I haven't had any problems for months now. But, I think I'll look for one for the 14gal BioCube; it can't hurt.

    Protein skimmer, or no?

I'm wondering if I need one for my 14gal nano. It's been up and running since March, and I never got one of those mini-skimmers. My large reef tanks have them, of course, but I'm still new to the nano thing. Any recommendations? The tank is doing very well, water is perfect, though it took...

    pistol shrimp

Just be ready to hear some very strange sounds...my pistol was (I had to sell it after it got over 2 inches) in my front room, but would still wake me up at night. I'm a light sleeper, and 'Snappy' was a pain. Yet, very cool little creature; roomed with my high-fin goby.

Just got 14 gal Biocube, any suggestions please?

Alirghty, now what should I do as far as a protien skimmer? Is one needed with the 14gal BioCube? (I read the 'recommended' entire thread, and already plan to widen the flow from the first chamber into the second. I am also upgrading the stock pump, (not sure to what yet, I can take all the...

Just got 14 gal Biocube, any suggestions please?

Thank you so much, both of you. And I'm assuming that the heater goes in the far right chamber?

Just got 14 gal Biocube, any suggestions please?

I was just given one complete with stand. It's brand new (it has 2 24watt bulbs and the moonlights), though I will be starting it with lr, ls, and water from my 56gallon tank that's been going for over eight months past its cycle. The Biocube will only have soft corals (my favs) and two clown...

    American Idol Winner?

No thanks, I don't like to endorse things like that with my attention. But I am shocked to see Melinda gone, but she will still do well, perhaps even better without the strings from the show.

    American Idol Winner?

Hmm...I can't really tell if 'Seattle' is mad at me. I never even said I liked Blake's music (which I really don't, not the beat boxing, though I love the tone to his voice). But musically speaking Blake and Melinda (who I desperately want to develop more charisma) are technically better...

    American Idol Winner?

I don't know, Blake's the only guy left, and that could give him an edge. Though, to be fair, the show seems to want a female to win this year. They don't have a female pop idol right now, and wasn't it about 75% of the people who made it to Hollywood were female? I work in the entertainment...

Anyone know Scutus reproduction or growth rates?

Crud, that's probably too big for my tank isn't it? I wonder what I should do with them, before they make more. :notsure:

Anyone know Scutus reproduction or growth rates?

This is what the smallest one looked like a couple weeks ago. It got scared, so you can see its shell. And unless it's hiding somewhere it has more than doubled in size.

    Fish for my 14 biocube

Clown gobies are a good choice. My favs are the yellow, black, and green (it's green with pink stripes). But the Citron (or citrinins) is nice too, being yellow with blue stripes on the head. Neon Gobies, blue and gold Shrimp gobies, I love the high fin. Dartfish. Those are my favorite fish...

Anyone know Scutus reproduction or growth rates?

I have three scutus hitch-hikers (that I know of) in my 56 gallon tank. And they are growing fast. In two weeks they have grown from .5"/1"/1.5" to 1"/2"/3" respectively. I know they are algae eaters, and man do they keep things clean. I'm just worried about how big they'll get, if three is...

    Hermit in urchin shell:

Yeah, I was afraid of that so I put in some old snail shells that are about the same size. But so far he's not leaving his new home, I'll post more pics if I get any that are clearer.

    Hermit in urchin shell:

There has been a little sea urchin shell in my tank for a couple weeks now, I guess it fell out of the live rock. This morning I found my scarlet hermit crab wearing it. It was so funny, it looked like a turban or something. I just wanted to share the photo. Is this normal, and is this...

    Do you name your fish?

I only name them after they've lived for two months. Otherwise I'm afraid they'll die as well.

    Do you name your fish?

I name all of my fish, and even manage to remember them. Though some of my freshwater schools are group named, since you can't tell the difference between them. And what are some of your names? Flicker-firefish Spot-guppy Makai-betta

I name all of my fish, and even manage to remember them. Though some of my freshwater schools are group named, since you can't tell the difference between them. Why can't I delete this? My computer submitted the preview thread and the newer one...grr...I will never understand computers.
