the dim, they give are the outside dims. on the in side it will be 48x13.. take away wood and trim thickness and it will fit.. but if you can call and ask i would....

5 micron is very fine.. .would clog in a few hrs... i have a 100 micon filer pad...does job preety good.. takes a few days to get good cleaning going.. remember.. if its to fine it will cause you more work to large and its no good... the 100 i use gets better in days of usage .. sometimes better...

i would ask the seller to fill tank outside first to see if seals are ok.. then you could check ph. and such then... but to my knowalge temp wont efect ph and such as long as you bring them back to a norm temp befor trying to use them again... the same shoouold be good for the tank,,,,

i would have to go with Twoods on this one... it was put there for a reason....dont cut... you mention you have a refectoe now... are the ends open or closed? closing the ends with some reflective material to aim lighting towards center of tank....might help with shadowing.... Have fun <img...

sounds like you have enough.. just as to what kind?? well as you can see it up to you.. the blue(actinic) does bring out the colors better. as for watts... you do have enough.. i got 4x40's on mine....went to lhs and bought lighting fixture you would put in shop...bought bulbs from lfs.... just...
