    Tank Cycle

I would not do a water change during the cycle. An interruption like that could prolong the cycle.

    Worried!!!

This could be thier way of establishing who will be the dominate one. Sporadic swimming in kind of a side ways jerking motion is what I witnessed when my two were establishing themselves. Also when I first added my percs it took them at least a week before eating on a normal schedule.

    Rio Pumps SUCK!!!!!!!!

Be careful what you say about a company, you dont want to end up in a lawsuit like the guy who expressed his opinion about an on line company on a different message board. <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" /> Back on topic: I have a rio that came with my ecosystem. Like...

Clownfish in a host brain coral?

My pair of percs used my colt for a little while and have now moved to my toadstool. My seabae clown has sense moved to the colt coral. So now I have a clown in my colt and a pair in my toadstool. From my experience the corals dont seem to be bothered by the fish too much and seem to adapt to...

    Hair algea, Nuissance or not?

In terms of your corals and coralline hair algea can out compete the coralline for space to grow and can harm corals by irritating the base. Most people do not like the look of the hair algae and its ability to grow fast and smother your LR, corals, or coralline therefore it is generally called...

Is something wrong with my skimmer?

Also if the skimmer is new there may be a short break in period. I have a seaclone myself and IMO they are great skimmers. Give it some time, the tiny bubbles should go away.

    Algae

No need for algae growth to feed the tang. Simply clip some seaweed selects in the tank and watch the tang rip it up. They love the stuff.

    Coral question

I agree with beth, leave them on the rock they came with. Why take the chance of harming the coral.

I agree with the royal gramma. Fantastic fish to watch and is a great choice for a fish to swim through rock work.

    Calcium levels?

The exact level that calcium should be is one of those areas that many people have different opinions about. I can tell you however that a level of 320 ppm is a little low. Natural sea water levels are commonly measured at around 380. However in the aquarium most recommend levels of at least...

    Striped damsel?

The damsels may not get along with each other but should be fine with the other critters mentioned. My first sw fish over 5 years ago were 3 blue damsels in a 29. One of the damsels was extremely aggressive and fin nipped the other 2 badly. I took the aggressive one out and placed him in a small...

    Ph Buffer won't mix

What I do is use a small container, cap it, and shake vigorously for a few seconds. This process seems to help dissolve the buffer.

    Black Tang

Yes they are fairly rare and that is why they carry such a high price tag. I cant even think about paying $250 for a fish. Unless of course I had cash coming out of my ears.
