    Growth on L Rock

If it is soft as you say and if when you scrape it, it floats off, then it could by cyno bacteria or more commonly red slime

    hawkfish compatibility

I have 2 hawks in my tank, a long nose and a red spottted. Both about 2". They get along fine with the dwarf lion and clown. DOn;t have any damsels, but they should all be fine. I never had any problems.

    skimmer ?

I have the AquaC Urchin pro -- in-sump version of the remora pro. Like what was staed just before, you want "dry" foam as AquaC describes it. Start the cup, I am assuming you have the black o-ring around the collection cup to level it, at it highesdt point and lower it slowly until you get a...

    Blue Hippo Hiding

Depends. My hippo sort of does the same thing in the beginning. After about a wqeek or so, he started coming out. Took him time to adjust to his surroundings and the other tangs. I would say that if he is eating well, then don't worry. HTH

    help with tank temperature

I should have completely answered your question. A swing of 4 degrees is borderline a problem. Fish, in general, stress during temp swings. If however, the swing is gradual, as opposed to your lights going out and tank temp dropping the 4 degrees in 3-4 hours, you would probably be okay...

I wish I had that problem....I had the reverse problem and had to add a chiller. You could add a small heater.

    New tank stocking list

IMO the stock list you have is way to much for the 75. I would consider the tang, trigger and angel in my 120 or 155. Tangs and triggers grow big and the tang especially need a lot of swimming room. Like said above, the mandarin should only be kept in a tank with a lot of LR, I mean a lot...

    long nose hawkfish

I have a long nosed hawk and a red flame hawk in my 155 gal reef. Both are 3-4". I also have fire gobies, small LM blennies and purple firefish. Neither has gone after any of the fish. The key is making sure they have other food sources. Mine eat both Spectrum and shrimp pellets with glee. HTH

    are these test results ok????

The results are not that much different from most municipally treated water. That being said, there is still stuff in your water that you will probably want to remove using and ro or ro/di filter. Just as a point of info, ro usually remove 93-96% of harmful contaminants, where as ro/di will...

I think my pepperment shrimp has had babies

probably pods....a good thing. Pep shrimp usually do not breed unless they have been a mated pair in an long established tank.

    Snowflake Eel

In my aggressive tank, I agree with the above, SFE eat primarily, in the wild, crustaceans. They acclimate in aquariums very well to stick feeding and drop feeding in front of their lair. There is always the potential that it will eat your ornamental shrimp if it gets hungry enough and big...

Dark red algae won't go away.

It will eventually go away. Stuff like slime away -- just be careful -- it screws up your redox levels and I just don;t like putting chemicals in. Keep syphoning and it will go away
