    It finally happened!

I came home the other day and my clowns are begging for attention as usual. My Banded Coral Shrimp is sitting there waiting to be fed. When I added the food the clowns reacted normally but the shrimp just sat there. I moved in for a closer look and he jumped out from behind another rock! Yep...

    Visijet Skimmer

My Bak Pak does an amazing job. I'm very pleased with it. My daughter looked at my tank just a couple days after I'd installed it and she asked "what did you do to the tank, the water is so clear!" I'm sure the more expensive Aquq Remora does a fine job too, but I'm sold on my Bak Pak.

    Dying Turbo Snails

Turbos will occasionally fall off of whatever they are climbing on. When that happens, they can't right themselves very quickly and the crabs attack! I've seen it happen again and again.

    Adding sand!

The Python can replace water to a tank, but this feature does not work with salt water for obvious reasons (chlorine, etc...) The nice thing about it, is the mess goes right down the drain, and you dont have to worry about sand ruining a pump. The sludge goes out with the water. Just make sure...

    Adding sand!

Its a vacume system that you hook to your sink. You can vacume and remove water with it without having to lug buckets. Its sold at all fish supply sites. Works great!:D

    Adding sand!

Here's a thought. Do you have a Python cleaning system? Hook it up and clean the existing sandbed. Then while the Python is still running slowly add the new sand with a cup or small bowl to control sand storm effect. You should be able to keep it under control with the vacume power of your...

    Powder Blue

:nope: I was at my LFS yesterday, and saw the most beautiful Powder Blue Tang. He was in a 10 gallon tank, and my heart just broke for him.. I resisted the temptation to bring him home though, as my tank is only a 40 gal. He is approx 3 1/3 inches in length. My ? is how big a tank does he...

    Visi Jet PS?

:D Ditto on the piece og crap! sorry, but I got rid of mine just as fast as I installed it. You can mess around with the air flow adjustment, and if your lucky it might work for a few hours. Best thing I can advise is cut your losses and invest in a good skimmer. I went with a CPR bakpak...

    Water wars

:notsure: But what is the difference between distilled and RO? I checked the ALK level in both, and the distilled is very low but the RO is very high. Which is worse high or low? Can't I use a buffer to bring up the ALK? How do you lower the ALK level if its to high? confused as...

    Water wars

:notsure: I have a problem with Alkilinity, with my tap water, its usually off the testing charts. It also has a very high PH which leads to precipitation of calcium. (I'm so proud to say I learned it all here on the boards) Now I am trying to determine if I should get a RO unit or a...

2 many fish in QT!! Help!

CRM13 I hear ya , and I think I'll give the freshwater dip a try. I won't have time to cycle a larger tank if I want to save these guys. So I think I'll start with the obviously infected ones 1st. Then maybe a quick trip to the lfs for a refractometer. I'd better be preparred 30 days is a...
