Yeap, sounds definately like cyano. As mentioned above, increase the flow and make sure there are no deadspots around, decrease feeding, and do water changes while at the sametime syphoning the algae out. BTW how old are you bulbs? Sometimes the bulb can cause algae growth.
Title says it, I am in need for a JBJ 24gallon Nanocube ballast. It must be working as I will be retrofitting a new lighting system with the lights on the hood. My old ballast doesnt turn on the lights but turns on the fan, so Im in need for a working doesnt have to be new ballast.
Im located in...
here are pictures of mine. cant compare to any of you. BTW I just started my tank over again so theres nothing too special. Lights just turned on also.
Congratulations azfishgal! they look really nice and healthy. just curious, do you know if the parents are wild caught or tank bred? I have been trying to keep one in my tank, but have been unsuccessful.
-cut down the lighting by half
-increase flow in DT
-decrease feeding
-increase water changes and sucking up the algae at the same time
when the cyano is all gone, you can start increasing the time your lights are on by an hour a week. dont do it too fast, they might just come back real quick.
if it does get out of control fast, you can buy Aiptasia Control by Blue Life or Blue Vet. took out the nasty buggers in my tank in seconds. and its totally reef safe
my goldband maroon first hosted my toadstool that was probably as big as my hand, but it got sick so i had to frag the toadstool. now it host my bubble coral
does it do it at night when the lights are out or does it do it all the time? if its at night, they are just probably sleeping, as long as they are eating and active, they should be good. how long have they been in your tank?
Hey fellow reefers, I am testing waters on this healthy gold band maroon clown. He or possibly she is currently in my 24gallon reef and has grown fat and aggressive. Its been in my tank for almost 1 year and a half now. It will take in whatever you give him to eat. I have feed him Prime Flakes...
mine is actually really aggressive. well he use to be normal not bothering my YT damsel, sixline wrasse, and my clown goby, but recently, i added a bubble coral that he loves and started to host. now hes aggressive towards everything in the tank. i think he even started getting aggressive on...
that stock list is fine. just don't add the lawnmower blenny too early, because they feed on algae. also take your time. it is the key to a successful aquarium.
it all depends on the fish. at my lfs, in their display, she put a flame angel in her reef, and it would pick at all the corals she had. my friend added a flame angel to his reef, and it never picked at anything.
my 24 gallon reef been set up for almost 3 years now and i have always used carbon. it helped greatly when i did water changes and accidentally stir up the sand bed. my tank clears up in just minutes. btw i use chemi-pure.
