    Quarantine Question

My thoughts are also about practicality. If I own a sick fish I have to get it out of the tank then transport it to your group vs just having a second tank at home. My LFS has a similar process at her shop. For a few bucks a day you can bring down your fish and she will maintain the system...

    malu Anemone

Time. Just time. If it perked up then it may just be its nature. At night they will shrink down. They also expel waste through the skin surface. Think of it like breathing. Give it more time and don't hand feed it for a day or two.

    malu Anemone

Interesting. Is there a clown with this anemone? It could be the lights. It could also be the animal and the environment it was in at the store. Still I say time is your friend. If it lived this long in your tank I would say it is fine just adjusting. Once it finds the right location it...

    malu Anemone

Let it be. It takes time for the animal to settle in. If in a week or two there are still issues then it would be time to worry. Temp lighting and water quality must all be constant. What type of lights are you using?

    Turf Algae and Cooked Corals

Seahare. They will eat your algae and then take it back to your local store or share it with another local reefer.

    Can I get one?

Different species Anemone can sting each other which can kill them. Your tank is small so consistent water quality is a challenge. Rbta's are hardy but with that in mind what type of lighting do you have on the tank? Regular feeding once a week and tomato clowns get large. I would...

    Can I do Anemones?

I have Rainbow Rose Bubble Tip anemones. They are not as light greedy as other anemones. Although power compacts are a minimum. T5's reef LEDS or metal halides are preferred. You need to hand feed them and they WILL NOT stay where you want them. Finally none of your rockwork can touch the...

    Red bubble tip damage

Give it time. This happens often in close spaces. May have to get rid of one.

Is my anemone happy or does it need more light?

Also I feed mine every two weeks. Either scallops or pieces of uncooked fish.

Is my anemone happy or does it need more light?

Mine will do the same. Mine hate bubbles. When my wTer lvl drops in my fuge I get micro bubbles in the tank. It irritates their skin and they deflate. After adding water they come right back. I have had mine under pc's for a few years now.

    New Build

What is it make from? I've been thinking about using wormy chestnut to skin a stand. I took down an armoire that was built in at our new house. There is enough wood for stand and hood but I'm concerned about the weight.

    New Build

Is the full weight of the hood sitting on the glass? It looks heavy if so. Are you going to mount the hood to the wall? Makes me thing stress cracks along the seals otherwise.

    Powerheads and flow

Upper tank is better. Its main purpose is to keep the surface moving and also move the water around the tank to keep the sand relatively clean. Raise it to create a ripple effect on the top of the water. I point mine towards the top of the water mid way up the side wall.

    Lighting

Sorry never used that bulb. Softies don't need the intensity of hard corals. I have plenty under power compacts. 2 65w 10k and 2 65k actinics 460s.
