Well not to argue, but if you can put a 1.5" coupling in the overflow, why cant you put a 1.25" pipe in there? it is smaller than your coupling... It seems to me that your standpipe can not stay ahead of your drain.... if that makes sense... kind of like a funnel, if the funnel is full liquid...

I am building a sump using a 20 gal long tank. I know others on here have done this in the past, Does anyone remember the inside width of a 20 gal long? the outside width is 12 1/4, I just dont know the inside diminsions in order to have the glass cut to the correct width.

Thanks, that is what I was thinking but was not 100% sure. As far as hooking it up.... can I just connect the pump and turn it on? This is my first experiance with a in sump skimmer and its completely different than a HOB skimmer I am used to. Any information on how to correctly install it...

I just got a turboflotor 1000 and plan on putting it in my sump once I have built it. Does anyone know how much water it needs to sit in to work perfectly? I cant wait to see this unit work, it looks awesome... Any tips,suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
