if anyone else out there is lazy and does not want to clean the sand beds your self how did you get it clean? what critters can i buy to clean my sand. BTW i have a 50 hex so theres not to much room. (just keeping that in mind when determining what critters i can get.)

are there ne fish that eat algae on the side of your tanks (tank glass) that do not need alot of room to swim that can fit in a 50 hex w/ LR?

i am running a skimmer and i have put a powerhead on blow on the surface the layer isn't a think smog you can't see through but if you look closely theres alot of thin brown'ish red stuff on the surface

the live rock has been cured for about 1-2 weeks and already did 1 water change... how long does it take for the ammonia to go down?

if you were in my position would you still go for a reef or FOWLR? the reason i got a hex was because i got a 50g tank n stand plus filter n pump for 70 bucks...

I am starting a reef tank and i do not hav to much room for powerheads plus i already bought 2 of them. i was told that you also need about 25x the aomunt of water flow. I was also told about FOWLR tanks that only ned about 15x amount of current in my tank. I have a 50 hex and about 20 pounds...

can a FOWLR hav cleaners in it or what seperates the FOWLR from reef... is it the corals? can i hav a FOWLR with some hermits and shrimp snalis ect. but no corals?
