    Sump/Fuge will it work???

Looks like a good setup, do you have any issues with the flow through the fuge being too high?

    Sump/Fuge will it work???

I'd rather have one sump/fuge than two units so it sounds like it wouldnt work, so my next question would be how to set it up. Fuge on the right, return middle, and skimmer left to keep the fuge low flow?

    Sump/Fuge will it work???

I've got a wet/dry that I want to make an integrated fuge under my 85. Water flows from the overflow over the bio-balls, which will be killed soon!, and over a couple baffles to the return. How can I integrate the fuge aspect while adding my skimmer, to get it outta the tank. I've searched tons...

    Updated 210 pics

Great tank. It is really well stocked for a 210, takes a lot of rock and coral to make it look that nice!

    Help with lighting plan

I agree with the icecap ballasts. I have two running 250watt 10K XM's. The 10K's are bright white IMO and I only supplement with 110 watts of PC actinic and am very pleased. They are just on seperate timers for dawn/dusk. I did the DIY canopy and ordered parts seperatly and it has worked fine.

How have you mounted your lights?

Don't know if this is an option but I built my own canopy(wanted a hood but wanted to save $$$ too). A canopy would allow you to buy a retro kit and just mount the light and reflectors to the top of the canopy. I know it saved me money and covered to apperance of the tank's hardware. HTH

    Im tired of hearing this...

Fishtanker has a valid point with which I agree. These fish will probably not grow big due to the fact their environment has stressed them to the point that they die before they reach a normal size. Overcrowding kills, so does not offering enough space!

    Which of these two

My coral beauty is a character it always comes up to my hand when i'm working in the tank and has never bothered the other inhabitants. I must admit I am biased though since I have never kept a flame angel, around my parts they are much, much more expensive than the coral beauties.

    VHO Rumor

Actinics could be on longer to add a night and day effect to the tank. My PC's have needed replacement every 6 months roughly. They seem to lose spectrum and help grow unwanted algae so I would have to recommend VHO for the fact that they give more light per bulb and shouldn't last any less time...

    need metal halides

Just do a search using yahoo or google. Do you want a retro-kit or hood or pendant? Do a seach and compare prices, that's what I did and it worked out just fine. People have also had success with the "online market place" e...something dot com!:D

    External Overflows, who's got them?

thanks for the responses everyone. i'm going to have to do a little more research on the different overflows available. My hang on overflow broke so I have it rigged up with a 2X4, really classy!

    External Overflows, who's got them?

I have a regular overflow, no pre-drilled holes in tank, complete with u-tube and ugly prefilter box. Wanted to know who used the externals, such as CPR, and what kind of experience they had. Is it just more asthetically pleasing or does it work better?

My clown is going nuts! I think he's about to go...

What kind of clowns, i had two common clowns a while ago and one did just the same thing. He died a day later while the other died a couple weeks later, of a broken heart i think. The other fish in the tank showed no ill effects and remained fine. Good luck and hopefully yours will be OK. What...

    Problems with hair algae...

Havent heard of any negatives from these reactors, just bear in mind the flow must be enough to keep media fluidized and sublte enough to keep the fine particulate matter from flowing into the tank. Ball or gate valves are perfect for this.

    Too much Water movement?

Gotta agree with NAS, I'm shooting for 20-22 times turnover with the help of a closed loop. The more water motion the better the benefits of the live rock we so longingly saved for.

    Problems with hair algae...

If your PO4 is high than along with water changes you could get a phosphate reactor. Do a search for them on the board there are a lot of proponents to these and there is one out now that is a real good deal.

    Closed loop pump

Phipps, this link helped me get an idea of what my design will look like. http://www.sparklingfloorservice.com...losedloop.html I'm wondering if i should go with a higher flow pump since the SCWD will cut down the flow. Any help here????
