Holy cow. That trim make all the difference in the world. It look good before, but with the trim, it looks awesome!!! It hides the imperfections perfectly. Nice work!
Nice job on the stain and poly. I could shave in that mirror finish.

Thanks all. I wasn't planning on putting trim around the bottom. My wife wants me to build a canopy though. Not a priority and will after I get the tank cycling.

It's a piece of trim or as simple as a piece of flat stock with a radius top edge. Its added after the tank is on the stand and covers the face of the sand, you now the area you never clean a mixture of scum sand and algae. I would give you a picture but I haven't done mine yet still getting through the list of honey do's from the wife. Maybe I'll get to it after that in about 10 years.

I'm in trouble I think with my bean overflow. Check it out.
I put the pieces together tonight and noticed that it is too high. I'm not sure what else I can do but I can cut the bushing down a little. Notice where the weir is and then the middle of the street elbow. From that view it looks okay but if the water line covers the street elbow I think I may be in trouble.
When placing the emergency pipe it does sit below the top but only by a 1/4". I need ideas or to be assured that im good to go. Thanks

This is where I can cut a little

Emergency drain

This the piece I could cut

The way I see it is the there won't be any fall into the overflow box which is fine with me. Do you think it's safe to cut that bushing down to gain an extra 1/4"? Would it be bad if the emergency drain took a few trickles of water because it looks really close to about even (unless I cut that bushing).

Bob looking at the pictures they are definitely to high. I would opt to go either with 1" plumbing to reduce the need for a bushing or if you stay with the larger diameter plumbing you just need a nub to drop into the bulkhead.
I will give you a call later thos evening when I get in!!!!
