Are the the wides or the standard Bob....Referring to the Kessils....I'd love to see the 360W......I love how they can be synched and controlled as 1 as well.....
The pics are 2 350 wides. I will be picking up a 360 wide this weekend and syncing them sunrise sunset on my apex. The reality is with my preferences I will probably have a total of 4 kessils over my tank even though three should be adequate. What I will do is get the 360 wide see how I like it, which I'm sure I will then start selling my 350's one by one and replacing them with all 360 wides for a total of 4. Once I know my flow is correct. I'm considering trading one of my vortech mp10es wireless for a kessil 150 for my fuge to grow macros. I'm not sure which spectrum I should get though. There is an amazon but I only see it on fresh water tanks to grow macro. I wonder if it will do the same purpose for saltwater?
Anybody want to take any bets on how my live stock does in the new tank? I do hope everyone makes it through. I won't be moving any fish over till Sunday morning most likely.
Cool deal Bob....I will be texting you later on......Can't wait to see the 360's.....The use of them over the fuge should be perfectly fine.....
I think your livestock should be fine....Just be prepared for water changes due to the move, but if you keep after the water changes shouldn't be an issue IMHO.....
So far so good going to go pick up the test today, ammonia and nitrite. The corals anemone and clam are all doing well so far. I noticed a little algae bloom on a few of the rocks so the process is finally in motion. I've been noticing my house smelling kinda bad like old stale water. I realized it my skimmer waste!!! I cleaned it up last night. I'm going to have to invest in one of the sealed containers to drain the skimmer waste to.
Tomorrow is the move with the small tank. I will be breaking it down. I will be donating my flame angel to the lfs it will not be going in the big tank. It's not reef safe and is nipping at my clam daily.
I ended up putting my fish in the tank last night. Before that I tested the top three ammonia, trite, trate and all looked good. I had about 10 in trates The fish are loving the extra room especially the wrasse. The flame angel will go to the lfs for store credit. He is still in the 33 gal
Not sure what brand on the skim mate locker? Got a little bit more done on the tank. I ended up ripping out my battery operated lighting under the stand and put in 3 led hockey pucks lighting is 1000 x brighter and don't need to worry about batteries.
I also put together a $3 stand mount for my lights. This is temporary until I build my canopy but a lot better than the boxes I was using
I have to admit, i am extremely impressed with the kesil 360 wide. I think you would be better off with the plant grow kessil 150 for your fuge.
Tank looks awesome! I am completely impressed. Youve done a great job, Bob.
Thanks guys. I have good news. I picked up a kessil 360w today with the money I got from selling my old tank. I'm addicted. The control is great I've got to read up a lot on how to program it but have a pretty good setting right now that I got online. All I can say is I want to get rid of my 2 kessil 350w as soon as possible so I can get all 360's and run the apex program on them all.
I didn't do any tests today but I got a huge bloom of brownish algae all over my rocks. I feel like a noob, I can't remember if I'm supposed to scrub it off or just let it happen and it will go away? I ended up getting some cheato today, I will have to take a video of it because it is in optimal conditions as far as flow goes. It does a perfect constant tumble and roll.
I ended getting my water changing station 90% done tonight. Didn't take any pics yet but will. I will probably do a water change in the next day or so

I didn't do any tests today but I got a huge bloom of brownish algae all over my rocks. Could be diatoms? I just let them run their course when first setting up a tank. I feel like a noob, I know how you feel. I've been out of the hobby for about a year, and after having not set up a new tank in a long time I feel like I've forgotten some pretty basic things. It's coming back slowly, though.
Your tank looks sick, by the way. I really dig the aquascape and the attention to detail with the plumbing.
Another rookie mistake.
I bought two baby clowns only about an 1" long the black clowns destroyed them. I got them out into my sump. Will have to give them back or give them to my daughter who wants a tank for her birthday.
I really thought since they are two different species of clowns they would work. Of maybe its because they are just too small????
That sucks Bob!!!! Funny though you mention that topic my buddy and I were discussing the very exact same idea with my tank. I am considering or had considered mixing blacks and regular clowns.
Lubeck... I really like the look of those Kessil's. Sucks about the new clowns. I have heard that an acclimation box can help with new additions not getting beat up as much. Give them a couple of days in the box and the other fish can get used to them and not feel that they are a threat. I have never tried but it could help. Your tank should be big enough for two pairs of clowns to have a chance of working.
Two species should work I really think they were just too small to defend themselves. They are two, different species anyway. Plus they both got sucked up into my over flow and down into the fuge. Then the one got sucked up in the skimmer. That's when I said forget it. I went and bought my daughter a fluval edge and gave them to her for her bday. Once they get bigger I will add them into the tank. The box idea is a great idea and will probably try that.
I ended up getting a regal tang tonight the clowns don't know it's in there yet since I waited till the lights were off
I ordered my clean up crew today. Got a large amount but got a good deal. As you can see below its not too bad. Most of the snails are dwarf. I'm really excited about all the macros I'm getting for the fuge.

I've got issues with my closed loop. I lost my coral goby yesterday I woke up and it was pressed up the intake of my closed loop which is a two in intake. Luckily it didn't get sucked in or it would have been a mess. I know it died from getting too close and not my water parameters. When I put in my regal tang yesterday I was worried. When I was cleaning the tank today. The almost 3" regal got sucked up onto the intake of the CL too!!!!!!' I really don't know what to do. I don't want to turn it off and feel if I turn it down it was a big waste of money and time. I'm bummed and nervous every morning I wake up to see of someone got sucked up. Any thoughts??
Another update. I ended up glueing and placing all of my existing corals today. It looks good but need to see how everything colors up. And I put the doors back on
I also need to figure out how to take pics so they aren't blue
