I wondered what happened to you Josh!!!!! No pics as we speak other than the last ones I posted awhile ago. The way I feel today not even sure I'm going to make it to work tomorrow or not.....I usually don't miss work, but just totally beat, and body beat up as well.
This weekend was a very fast paced and productive weekend.....I got home Friday night and immediately began working on the tank in preparation for the guys coming over Sunday morning to help get the tank on the stand....Worked Friday night till 3am and back up at 6am and went back to sanding and buffing all the edges on the tank.....Figured it would be easier to do it while the tank was down on the floor instead of having to work around things while up on the stand.......Needless to say it takes quite a while to buff the edges out to my satisfaction.....
Tried muscling the tank around myself last night and really jacked up my left forearm......It's all black and blue. Tank was standing on long end and wanted to lay it flat and tired and being stupid figured I could man handle the tank down.....
Needless to say the tank did make it down in 1 piece, because I was bound that I'd dive under it before I dropped it......I do think my middle finger is broke, but I think that was done awhile ago working the tank, and never had it looked at, but yesterday really aggravated it........
I do have to say special thanks to my buddies for always putting up with my crazy tank moves and lifts, and the super early mornings.......I had six guys come over at 8am to help since I figured I wouldn't be to much help with my arm and finger all banged up......They lifted the tank on the handmade cart and we wheeled it over to the stand, and I put PVC pipes on the stand so when the tank was started on the stand it would roll across the PVC pipe, and not dig into the foam underneath the tank. I used 1/2" foam underneath the tank.....
The tank made it safely into place and still have to trim 2 areas of the euro bracing, so I can cut the euro bracing for the overflow box, and glue into place....That won't take long to do at all. I did start unmasking the tank this evening, and I'm very pleased.......Actually super excited.....I noticed a few spots on the edges that I want to go back and dress up, but it shouldn't be a super big issue.....I have to say the micro mesh was well worth the money spent.......The buffing was done solely with water and micro mesh starting with 1500 grit sandpaper all the way to 12000 grit....No Novus polish used at all......
