Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Panasonic WhisperLine fans are designed for multiple-task ventilation. This means that you can ventilate multiple areas or multiple rooms with just one fan. For example, you can place inlets over the shower, tub, toilet and/or vanity in a single bathroom and still use just one fan. In recent years, homes have become more airtight and energy efficient. While this lowers the cost to heat and air-condition a home, it also retains pollutants that can be hazardous to its occupants. One way to improve the air quality of the home is through whole-house ventilation with a Panasonic WhisperLine fan which removes stale air and provides fresh air on a slow, continuous basis. The Panasonic FV-20NLF1 WhisperLine 240 CFM In-Line Fan has a totally enclosed condenser motor and a large, double suction blower wheel to quietly move air. The blower wheel is designed to draw air in from both sides allowing more area for the air to enter the wheel. Panasonic fans are quiet enough that you might not even know they're on. This fan is designed to give you continuous, trouble-free operation for many years due to its high-quality components and permanently lubricated motors which wear at a slower pace. We designed the electrical configuration of this model's condenser motor to allow it to operate at lower temperatures, increasing the life of the motor and bearings. The fan housing is made of heavy-gauge zinc galvanized steel and painted to protect it from rust. This in-line fan fits a 6-Inch duct and can be installed in five different positions and joist, truss and suspension brackets are included to help make your installation as easy as possible. With a 1.4 sone level and rated 240 cubic feet per minute, this fan is Energy Star qualified. The Panasonic FV-20NLF1 WhisperLine 240 CFM In-Line Fan is covered by a manufacturer warranty for period of three years from the date of the original purchase and is sold one item per package.

Been lazy lately, work picking up.....Did get out in the garage and start messing with cutting the aluminum on the router table, and after a couple passes I'm fairly confident, that I won't be using an outside source to machine the heat sinks down.....As far as anodizing; with discussion with Corey and Al in all honesty no real significant gain vs the cost of having the heat sinks anodized.....
As far as the test runs, the aluminum I have on hand is roughly 1/4" thick, and running it on the router table it didn't cut much differently than running wood through the router....Of course I did make small passes on the piece, but there was no chatter or grabbing of the material.....I think a lot has to do with the depth of cut, and speed.....I had read varying tips as far as piece speed and such, but in all honesty letting the router run wide open and shallow cuts works just fine on aluminum. The only thing I'll probably do a little different when I actually get my hands on the good heat sinks, is lube the router table....I've been shooting so much spray paint lately and I'm pretty sure the table was a bit tacky which might have affected my feed rate, but even with that the finish results were rather impressive for a little playing around.....

If you got through 1/4" just fine you certainly shouldnt have any trouble cutting through the fins on the sinks. Good to hear that theres a much less expensive way to do these things.

Sorry Josh didn't take any pics was just crude testing. Your right Corey!!!! I was taking very shallow cuts. Maybe a little furniture polish sprayed on the router table would really smooth things out.

LEDControl4 - Passive

LEDControl4 passive converts 4 analog input voltages into 4 pulse width modulated (PWM) signals (Open-Collector), external LED drivers can be controlled by these PWM signals. In order to protect a connected ProfiLux against possible interferences the input circuits and the output circuits are galvanic insulated through optocouplers. In the case of 0% PWM, the transistors are insulating (output is highly resistive), in case of 100% PWM, the output is permanently pulled to minus potential, this behavior can be inverted.
LEDControl4 passive can produce „flashes“ during a thunderstorm simulation in ProfiLux. During a flash, the PWM-signal is temporarily set to 50%, 75% or 100%, independently from the corresponding analog input. Flashes can be output at channel 1 and channel 2, the flashing behavior can be set, see below.

Preconditions

  • 1 or 2 free 1-10 V-interfaces at ProfiLux

  • LED-lamps which can be controlled via PWM (Open Collector)
    Connection and operation

    • The delivered control lines (Western cables) are at one end plugged into the corresponding sockets of LEDControl4, at the other end they are plugged into free sockets with 1-10V-interfaces (e.g. L1L2 and L3L4) of ProfiLux.

    • The control inputs of the LED-drivers are connected to the delivered screw-type terminal.

The example above shows the connection of 4 LED-drivers, perhaps the use of pullup resistors against a positive voltage is necessary.
    Settings

Please don’t forget to program the corresponding 1-10V-interfaces and illumination channels of ProfiLux accordingly.
In LEDControl4 you can set the flashing behavior. The settings are made in ProfiLuxControl and are sent via ProfiLux to LEDControl4. The following settings are stored in LEDControl4 and are kept also without operating voltage.
    Reaction to Flash 1, Flash 2 or Flashes 1 & 2
PWM for Flash at 50%, 75% or 100%
Output flashes at channel 1 or channels 1 & 2
Furthermore the PWM signal can be inverted
Additional information you will find in your user manual of ProfiLux.
Important hints

Electrical installations must always be made by qualified person.
[*]
Please pay attention that the used LED-drivers are compatible, currents, voltages and polarity have to be considered, maybe pullup resistors have to be used.
Protect LEDControl4 passive from splash water and too high humidity.
The non-observance of this manual or the improper use will lead to a loss of warranty!

Interesting. I was digging around over on their site. It looks like you can't run an expansion box on the ProfiLux 2 like you can with the 3. So realistically, you're pretty limited on what you can do with a 2.
I think the 2 will work as far as a programmable timer for your leds if you want. And you'd be able to simulate sunrise, sunset and time your moon light cycle by switching on/off times for the drivers. But if you want to run the PWM controller to have a truly programmable timer and storm simulator along with dimming controllabillity then you'll need to get the ProfiLux 3. Does that sound right to you?
A 3 runs about $800.
The passive controller is $76
And depending what other features you may or may not want to run with the controller you're probably going to have to shell out at least a couple of hundred (minimum) in order to expand it to have the LED simulation capabilities on top of your other features?
The Vortech control module is nearly another $200.

The 2 can be upgraded to a 3.......
True, although it looks like you're going to pay a premium in going that route. Could get a little more bang for the buck right out of the gate I think by spending a couple extra Benjies for the Pro. 3.
Actually looks like you can use the 2 with the pwm controller though so that's still not bad if your just looking for basic monitoring functions.
Is it true that if you want to connect with your PC that you'll have to also purchase the LAN card? $200
Who do these people think they are? lol

I know all about the work schedule thingie... Every day I go into work.. I stand a chance of being told I cant go home at the end of my shift. Only thing worse than 8hrs here is 16hrs here.

Corey I spoke with a couple different people today, and the conclusion is the PS II's don't have the upgrade kits available do to many boards being ruined during the upgrade.....I'm positive the issues weren't involved when the manufacturer did the upgrades themselves, but the issues arose when the upgrades were done by individual owners......Therefore they discontinued any upgrade boards to the PS II.....The PS II's still offer a ton of functions and options, but as I had talked to you about my major hang up is with the Vortechs......The Vortech controller for the Profilux is a PAB which is a new addition for the new models coming out. The Vortech module isn't compatible with the PS II's......Just as the new power bars which are PAB as well....They are the only changes with the newer systems. So a short and sweet answer Corey is no the new module will only work with the new PAB compatible units.....
Corey the 2 Vortech modules seem pretty similar IMO......Again the thing I'm hung up on is the the Profilux III offers way more flexibility, but that flexibility does come at a cost.....Though.....The PS II still has the ability already built into it to do clouds, thunderstorms and what not.......To take advantage fully of the features or any dimmable ballast you'd have to purchase this module to fully dim the ballasts to their capabilities....

Profilux EVG-AP-2F Ballast Control Board

This PCB provides the interface between dimmable ballasts and the ProfiLux. The EVG-AP-2F also has onboard 0Volt switching, meaning, when the ballasts are reduced to their lowest voltage setting, the PCB detects this and automatically switches the power off to the lights, eliminating the need for an external timer.
