Good for you, and good luck T....Wow 26 years!!!
Had an economics Professor in college that said tobacco and the lottery are a tax on stupid people. A bit offensive (and funny), but over time the money really adds up.
Hope you can get through it man.

Very true....Although I have never contributed to the "lottery" fund, I definately fall into the succor category of the "tobacco" fund. But that is definately a true synopysis....lottery and tobacco is being taxed beyond unsurmountable realms. And it's all because people like me are either "addicted" to it, or too stupid to realize the difference.

Just curious....anyone ever try chewing lettuce, grass, etc.?
Anyone have any suggestions as a replacement to the oral fixation?

LOL....I have never dipped, have you tried carrots?
I try to think of things you can munch on that aren't fattening

Thank you....
I'm not usually a carrot kind of guy, but I'm going to the fridge now. I know there are some of those mini's in there, because wifey sends those in the kid's lunch every day.
Right now, I could snack on a head of collards if I had too (anything to get by), but I'm off to find the carrots....

You could always try sugar free chewing gum or that beef jerky chew. It comes in a can like dip and is shredded like the real stuff but it's beef jerky. My husband used that and it helped.

At the moment, I'm not looking for things that are not "fattening". I'm looking for support. I could chew on an overweight "weight watchers" chick at the moment.
Really bad night.....going to bed

I got my tongue pierce. That helped with my oral fixation and didn't add calories

They sell Smokey Mountain, it looks like snuff, basically it is corn husks, molassas and some pepper. Remarkably tastes close...

I guess I did use the word "chew", but for smokeless tobacco users, you don't really "chew" on anything. It mainly just sits there doing it's thing. Although I have been chewing gum like crazy, and doing the sunflower thing, it's not the same, and my mouth, teeth, and gums are totally worn out from those things.
stdreb....very interesting product. I had not seen this before. I just ordered the free 5-can sample (well, you pay the 7.95 s/h but still, that's not too bad at all). I will deduct this from my tally, but I am curious as to the taste/effectiveness of this product. I am aware that there is no nicotine in it, but if it could offset the mind game/oral fixation, it will be well worth it.

Speaking of gum, chewing, and nicotine, the Nicorette gum that I mentioned that I found (left over from last year), is really working well. Turns out I was using it wrong before. Last year, I never read the directions....It's "gum" so I just threw a piece in and "chewed" it. I never got much out of it, other than a near gag in my throat with every piece.
This time, I sat down and read the little pamplet that came in the box. You don't chew it at all. In fact, chewing it sends the whole dose of nicotine down your throat at once, causing it to flush out of your body much quicker. You simply make a couple chomps, then stow it away in your cheek for awhile, then repeat over and over up to about 30 mins. Works great...
When I get nervous or start the shakes, one piece will usually knock this down. (As Scott mentioned....makes it suck less on the suck-o-meter).

It is close, and it does help with the experience part of it all.

We were watching the Olympics and they told a story about how an athletes dad said he would quit smoking if she beat her rival, she did and he did. My wife said, she saved his life. So I figured I might as well log on and see what I can do about saving Dwight's life.

How is that for not putting any pressure on you. I will be checking tonight to see if you need some help dude.
BTW you mentioned you were a pilot, I would LOVE to know how to fly. Must have been awesome to do.

Still hanging on. Last night was a little rough, I know...I was babbling.
Today, well...still in the "sucks" mode. Have had a small headache the past two days. Not sure what that's about b/c I never have headaches.
Flying...
I love(d) to fly. Problem was/is, it's very expensive to do as a hobby. I had no way to tie it into a career to write off or justify, so it was all out of pocket everytime I went to the airport. Finally pulled the plug years ago and said enough is enough. You think SW tanks are an expensive hobby? You have no idea. But yes, I enjoyed piloting planes when I could, and I still go up with a buddy of mine occassionally.
