Those are some nice corals. I love the plates. The large purple plate with green tentacles is the whoop. I have a plate frag (1/4 circle) its growing but not fast enough for me. lol The small one will be swallowed up by the 475!!

Great looking tank. I have a new tank coming this week and am already stressed over rock work. Yours looks good though. It is as if it comes naturally to everyone but me haha. I can't wait to see this tank mature!

You don't have to get it right the first time you try, or the second, or the tenth... (I'd bet no one gets it right the first few times). Set it up with your best guess. Look at it a few days. Make an adjustment. Look at it a few days. Make an adjustment. Rinse, repeat...
You'll get it looking great in due time.

Yeah it is just way more of a pain when you have to move it around and have already put the sand in etc.

I love the Fungia plates too - I have 3 now, these 2 new ones, a neat 2" BRIGHT orange one, and now I want a standard green. I find them very easy to maintain, very pretty, but they are VERY slow growing... They do make great conversation pieces though!

Yup - I broke down the 125 & 100 tanks and only have 2 running, the 90 & 475...and currently no fish qtine tanks running.. The "divers den" on another site had a LARGE 8.5" x like 4" purple Acropora hyacinthus and a smaller but nicer A. clathrata (both tabling type) but they called me yesterday afternoon to say they would NOT be shipping either.......
Instantly upon hearing it was too late to add a different specimen or 2, I got on the

and the operator got nibbled on a bit - for as much as I've spent with them in 10 years, I should have a car from them.......OF course When I get some nice tabling specimins, you are welcome to a "swap" for some - once I get them established.

Actually I do not currently like the rock arrangement - but there are so many cleaner&peppermint shrimps under the rocks, with several brittle stars that stay under there too - I really cannot just go moving them around, or I risk crushing them... I plan on adding some large dry Tonga branch and some dry base "plates" on the top of the existing rocks to provide shelfs & overhangs and that'll spice it up!

Actually I researched him alot prior to getting - and true to form, a well fed navarchus has NO intrest in sps, ignores lps, has left my xenia alone, and the ONLY fish to have nipped at my clam (once) was the longnose butterfly. Reportedly, this is one of least coral prone of the large angles, and also about the smallest "large" angles - only making it to ~9 inches. He is really the most stunning fish in the tank, making the tangs & butterfly look rather bland - but I like the collection, and since everyone gets along so well, I think i'm done adding large fishes to it, and only maybe a few more little ones - just to vary the smaller species lines some..
I can;t wait to see some shots of your newbies in the DT on sunday. They should be ready for a bigger home by now! - and I know your ready to see them in there. pics pics pics
