279.99 with free shipping is the best I can find. Wife is out ATM and dont know when she will get back.

Monsinour, I'm fairly sure that is the best you will find. These skimmers are in demand and bargins are not to be had. You are a sweetie for trying to help. I know the overflow box had a few cheaper prices but then it didn't come with the lid or the lifter pump and purchasing that seperae made it cost more in the long run.
I think we did alright on equipment. I also am going to get by pretty good o live sand too. SWF owes me $39.99 on a coral that bit the dust so I can get the sand from them (40 pounds) for $90.00 and shipping is free.
Now if I just find a way to get those little sea stars from the fellow suffering with an over abunance...I got some bristle woms from my friend and I see amphipods and good isopods crawling around in my in tank refugium..I do see white dots so MAYBE I have copepods too. That should be plenty to seed the dead sand.

Depending on how small those white dots are, you very well could have copepods. How is your eye sight? I have learned that with my contacts in, I cant see them at all. If I wear my glasses and then take them off, with my absolutely horrible 20 - 800 vision, and get real close to the glass, i can see the copepods.

My eyes are very bad...they look like dots. I have never seen anything but dots.

No doubt little white dots would be some type of pod. Probably rode in with some of the corals you purchased after the dissaster. Unless there were survivors.

I bought a little bit of rock $18.00 worth, and put it in that little refugium, that's whay I have those little white bugs..isopods, so I do hope I have some copepods.
I also got at least a dozen bristle worms and I have found amphipods even in the canister filter...so I have lots of those, and little white starfish too. Those tiny brittle stars I have not seen, not even one.

Update:
Time for me to order my skimmer...Octopus XP 1000 sss, I'm going with the company Shawn (Acrylic51) recommends. I think Monsnour gave up trying to outdo this deal, I haven't heard back from him since he found the same prices I did..
I also found a site that sells those micro brittle stars for $2.50 each...LOL..cheaper than a bristle worm. I haven't ordered anyting yet, like live sand and such until I actually have the refugium up and running. I'm going to get some of these little guys for my tank. That should bring my tank back up to live rock and live sand status. I THINK I have copepods, I know I have amphipods, little white starfish and isopods
.
My nitrates right now are holding at 10/20 depending on when I test.

$2.50 for a mini brittle

GEESH flower I sure wish we lived closer

Next day air thru Fed X will cost $20.00 so if you want to send me some for free, I will gladly pay for shipping. LOL...They wanted $3.33 per bristle worm. I haven't ordered any critters or live sand until I get the new refugium up and running. I have everyting ordered on my end here..now it's all up to Shawn (Acrylic51)
As soon as I'm sure of sizes I will get those plastic hose clamps, once the pump and overflow arrives I will know exactly what to get, hose and all..

I thought 2Q was sending you all the tubing and hosework you needed. Am I wrong on this?
I offered, but it's just as easy for her to get the hose locally. I'll be putting the return together and sending all of the necissary plumbing attachments that she'll need to hook everything up. That why when she gets the hose all she has to do is cut it and plug it together.

Gotcha. Kinda need to know this incase no one else is on and she posts questions on how to put things together. SO you are sending the fittings for the return and overflow? acrylic is sending the sump and fuge. She is having the main pieces delivered from her orders. I think I got it.

I brought my laptop computer to work..so I can hang out a bit tonight online.
When it's time to put the sump together..I will have to synchronize all my helpers to be on line just in case I run into any problems...I'm glad you are already thinking on that line.

Yep, going to send the parts for the return and drains. I'll have to see if Al can make up a diagram with one of his niffty drawings that she can use as a reference. Once I have everything, then I'll take a picture of all of the pieces and do my best to describe where they go.

When laid out on the floor, use colored string to simulate the tubing between the pieces. Then, when shipping parts, tape the string to the pieces. I would imagine that would prove to be the best set of "instructions" one can get.

Yep with labels and drawings it should be pretty easy. I'll probably send two quarter turn valves for the main drain line and fuge line...depending on how things lay out under the stand then she can adjust whichever one she needs to accordingly. Someone please remind me to order the local line stuff tonight lol.
