Excellent, Shawn! I can't wait to see her get it all set up.
In regaurds to that other thread...I wasn't worried so much of his sump could handle the flow as much as why he would want the much flow through the sump for a 46G display tank. To each is own I guess. In Flowers case she has a 90G tank with a slightly larger sump/fuge and we're pushing about half of that. Efficiency was the angle that I had been trying to sugguest.

Alright, I will say it, that is just freaking awesome man. I guess I have a goal to save up $1,000 by labor day next year eh? LOL Oh wait, I need a stand, sump/fuge, pumps, lights, phs, all kinds of other carp. NVm.
Seriously though, that is one amazing looking contraption. It puts to shame my dinky setup.

Isnapple...look at my refugium... follow the thread see if you can do the same, have the refugium overflow into the sump.

Real short video showing the bubbles coming from the fuge return. Not major and they aren't getting to the pump, and being put back into the sump/skimmer side, but enough to bother me to try a little different approach.

Here is a short video again of the extensions I added to the return pipes of the fuge.....The water level is only at 5 1/4", allowing for the water to drop a good bit, but I feel the water level can safely be run around 7" easily, and the water fall from the return pipes would be minimal. Also I have the pump valve opened all the way giving both the sump and fuge equal amounts, and as the video shows bubble drop below the water line, but immediately rise and break.....No micro bubbles on the sump/skimmer side.....

Interesting. How about taking some basic window screen material and putting it over the ends to see if the bubbles break when they hit that? It seems like a lot of pipe just to make the water go through the u and still put in bubbles.
Question, are you using FW or SW for this test?

Fresh water......The bubbles are actually being produced more by the falling water.....The water level could be raised in the return section......screening would prevent any pods and such from making their way to the DT, and that is a detrius trap area as well......Would require attention!!!!

Good morning! I just got in from work and watched the two videos..it looks like you added a "U" to the ends of the long tubes on the refugium and fixed the bubble problem, you're so smart! The side where the skimmer sits looks so calm, even in the bubble trap.
It's going to be a rough week waiting for it to arrive. I can't believe that is actually mine, custom made for me...I'm still in happy shock.
Corey's Famtasic Gizmo and plumbing should arrive today. I'm hoping the sump will be here Friday and I will begin the install on Saturday evening...
I will never be able to thank everyone enough, and Shawn..If I could just reach through cyber space I would give you a big bear hug you right now! Oh it's going to be a very long week.

Alright Flower!!!!! Just left the UPS store and WOW.... Didn't realize how big and heavy they had gotten till I had cart them to the car and into the store. Had to be a little creative with boxes due to size and wanted extra padding around the sump and fuge. The news you've been waiting for???? The delivery date is expected wednesday, the 10th. The boxes are large!!!!!

1Snapple yes it was!!!! It doesn't happen enough IMO.....I seem to get to caught up with what "Shawn" has going on and forget about what's really important. Honestly we might not see the reward now or next month, but at some point I believe every kind deed will be returned someway shape or form......I've been on this forum site a lot longer than what it shows, and if it wasn't for the kindness of a lot of folks, I wouldn't be able to do a lot of things, and kinda selfish to keep it all to yourself if you get what I mean....We all bring different talents to the table, and if we can find that common ground we'd be surprised how we could help 1 another......
It kind of amazes me how/when people do ask questions, and then get a little bent out of shape, because someone doesn't see it their way......I see it everyday in my line of work, and I train a lot, and when I get a new person I'm working with I tell them to "leave your feelings at the gate". Once were inside it's all business.....We just all need to look past the silliness at times and see what the real message or intent is!!!!!!
Monsinour, no I didn't cut some old lady off.....I wouldn't do such a thing!!!!!! Only if they are tailgating me, then I'll get even!!!!!!
