Wow...I just love the close up view, and that rock wall looks awesome on the video.
I just read about your male horse...so sorry.

Thanks! I took the video with my semi-new camera. I am pleased with how it turned out. The rock wall is starting to color up.
I am planning on ordering 2 more horses in a few weeks. I also plan on beefing up the CUC, moving the goby to somewhere else, and adding some other fish.

I loved my rock wall, but after my 30g got so much uncontrolled hair algae I panicked and built the new tank so I could remove everything easy to clean....then I realized when I tore down the 30g, that I had used the miracle mud stuff and that was the real problem that made the HA so out of control.
I'm looking forward to seeing more video of your new critters

The video looks great!
What's with the green sword plant -- is that a freshwater decoration? It almost looks live...

Thanks!!! It is a fake plant for hitches. I still have to upgrade the lighting and add more corals. When I do, the fake crap is outta there.

Any chance of getting two together? I love the cirri!
It actually looks like a male in the 2nd and 3rd pictures, but female in the first and last one. By seeing two together we maybe can spot a difference.

HOLY COW she's beautiful! Reminds me of my wild caught girl when she was younger. Be prepared for the cirri to possibly be re-absorbed, but it might not happen since she's captive bred this way. Fingers crossed that she stays "hairy" for a long time.
My educated guess is that she's a she. Depending on size and age, it's possible that it's a subadult male....can you tell us how old they are or, barring that, how big they are? The tummy curvature suggests female, but the position of the anal fin would really help in that diagnosis...and I can't see it very well. The other thing that's making me second guess myself is the angle of the tummy....females usually "cut in" much more sharply than these pictures show. If there's ANY tissue that seems to connect the anal fin to the tail, it might be a juvie male.
Don't forget the awesome pic from the .org site:

I think its a boy. The tummy is smooth and does not look like my females. They are about 4" long.

I'm a little concerned. The horses are not as active as I thought they would be. They did eat a little.

Relax, if they ate, I would think they are fine. It takes time for them to feel safe in a new tank. They have been thru allot, and like most seahorses we purchase, they have never been in a real set-up tank before. The people who breed them have bare bottoms and fake hitches. You dumpped them into a whole different world.
