As of 30 Mins ago Mother Nature decided that SHE WANTED to SHOW UP. Hole is coming up inbetween my house and my Neighbors Driveway right now it is 18 inches long and 20+ deep and deeper every Min that goes by. So DNR and a Whole CRAPOLA of Aphlabet agencies just got INVOLVED. Going to be FUN HERE for a Few Weeks. Gas Company coming by soon to replace the connect with a Flex one and a crapload of Other work. To save a house like mine is about 140K I can buy one for around 50K in this area. I bet they tear it down. They have to Dig out then jack up the entire house pour a New Foundation and redo all the Plumbing UNDER IT. going to be Way to expensive for the Insurance company to want to repair I bet. Will see what happens here soon.
Have you asked anyone if you have to live in the house? Get it in writing. I'd sue the snot out of whoever just for the emotional trauma of being forced to stay there when a sinkhole could open up without warning. Sounds just absurd enough to be a government program.

No one can force you to stay in the house by denying your claim, but, if you can't afford to do otherwise, then that's that. Anyway, its Thursday, and the assessor was supposed to come Wed., so what happened?

Regardless of who's ultimately responsible for repair or replacement if your homeowners insurance includes alternative housing should your home become uninhabitable they should pay for rent. If they balk hire a damned lawyer. Bad faith insurance claims are serious money makers, lawyers would line up for such a case.

See this fund is run by the state of Illinois so the agencies I have to go after are a laundry list in this POS state. Let's see here the DNR the dept of mine reclaimation then there are 3 more. They all are involved so wish me luck. Trying to sue under this fund is next to impossible. :sad:

I don't understand, if you've had people out from a couple different agencies and they are freaking out about the amount of damage they can see, why can they not tell you to leave? If they told you that your house is sitting on a sinkhole and the house is going to collapse, why are they making you stay there? At what point do they put your lives above whether or not they can save the house? I don't understand how your laws there work, but I do get there is a fund in place to deal with these situations and they have procedures they have to follow, fair enough, but it does not make sense they are forcing you to stay given the severity of the damages you are describing. It sounds like they try to prevent claims from people who may abandone the property, have an issue and try to claim damages down the road, but whether you live there, rent it out, vacation, whatever, it does not make sense. Weird. Hope they make a decision soon, it sounds pretty dire.

Ever heard of the chimney syndrome that is your typical goverment agency. Why they can not think to SHARE information between each other. The adjuster is with one dept the people that fix it WITH ANOTHER AND THE PEOPLE THAT PAY FOR IT WITH STILL ANOTHER. What are the scariest words in the world. I am from the goverment and We are here to Help YOU. So you get so many agencies involved and the do not talk to each other and it screws the people they are supposed to be helping.

Welcome to IL where every Union agency has to have a Piece of the PIE. The state that in Chicago if it is a Museum like Shed or Science and Industry only an Electrican can change a lightbulb. Here is a Fun one that I had to deal with 17 Years ago I was hauling Nursery Stocks for Loyola University Northshore Hospital with a 48 Foot Trailer as some of the Stuff was WAY to big for a Straight Truck that could haul it. Well I get to the Delivery Point and was trying to GET UNLOADED. The UNIONS where Fighting with EACH other as to who was going WATER these plants to take care of them. The Plumbers thought they should the Laborers claimed they should and then it really got fun the TEAMSTERS got mad because the Hospital used a NON UNION company to deliver to a UNION JOB SITE and then they went on STRIKE.
That give you a clue how Screwed up IL can be. All that was for 20 TREES that I delivered. I am NOT going to tell you how Screwed up the 2 times I had to go into Mc Cormick Place to unload.
Hell the Guy that needs to INSPECT this freaking thing can not get here BEFORE MONDAY thanks to our Lovely Governor that has Shut off all State Fuel Cards except for the State POLICE CARS til Monday due to him Fighting with the State Workers over making them pay more for Insurance and Pensions here. Now you see why I am Praying that if it goes it Takes the house DOES not KILL ME OR MY FAMILY and so I can GET THE HELL OUT OF DODGE.

Yes We are but in IL the Governor has this issue he has Little Man Syndrome and also has to deal with the fact I think he does NOT want to be the 3rd Governor in a ROW to go to PRISON. His previous 2 Chair Holders are still in Club Fed. George Ryan is due to get out Next year after doing 8 Years for Bribery and Blago is doing 14 Years for Corruption.
We have a Saying here in IL Chicago the City that sends its worst to the Rest of the State and Rules the State with an IRON FIST but does not want the Headache of Being the Capital of IL. Would be so much Easier for the Rest of IL if certain Familes in IL could be Broken from Power. Right now ONE Family has 2 Major Offices at the State Level. Daddy is the Speaker of the House in Mike Madigan and he is the TRUE Ruler of the State he hates a Bill he will KILL IT and BE PUBLIC ABOUT DOING IT. Daddy's Little Angel Lisa is the Atty General who learned form Daddy how to RULE with an Iron FIST and SHE DOES. Rumor is in 2014 she is going to run for Governor and make this state in what DADDY WANTS it to BECOME. That happens IL will make Cailfornia and how messed up it is look like Paradise.

Wish me Luck as Tomorrow the IDIOTS from DNR show up and from what I have gathered their IDEA to fix most houses that have had Damage is to Jack it up and fill in the hole. Sorry that will not WORK with mine. My house is an OLD 50's Prefab that the house was built in a Factory and then shipped to the Site on a Truck walked into place and Assembled into place. My walls are 2x3's on the outside with Cardboard GLUED to them for Skins with insulation inside of them. The Top and bottom plates have a Steel channel on them that is where the Bolts where put thru them. So Jacking this place up will Rip it apart. I can literaly Cut thru my house with a BUTTERKNIFE all the way to the Siding outside. So I am going to have FUN with the IDIOTS that think this is a Current Standard Manufactured Home that has a Steel Beam underneath.

Well the Idiot and I MEAN IDIOT from the state was here. He did not even look inside the house he only stuck a stick in the ground went there is no void so I can not help you as our Funding Source the FEDERAL GOVERMENT will not allow us to HELP YOU AT ALL unless the HOUSE IS ABOUT TO COLLAPSE. I almost shoved his stick where the sun does not shine UP HIM. But I do not need to do 15 Years in Statesville so I did not do it. Would have made me feel good but NOT WORTH IT.
So Weds when my Claim agent gets back I am going to be on the phone with her going now how am I supposed to clean the house with NO WATER we think the mine is crimping off the water line into the house. If so the Farm is going to SCREAM like a BITCH on that one.

Wow.... so, what did he use? A 200 foot stick? You should have asked if you could shove the stick up him and see if there is an end to his bullsh!t.
What I would do is start moving some things out of the house into a storage unit. Just things that you don't want to go bye bye into a deep cave. ... and just wait. Also, leave a window open and sleep in your cloths.

I will not kill anyone I promise everyone. However I do not promise to not rip the IDIOTS I DEAL WITH THE PROPER ARSEHOLE CHEWING THEY DESERVE PLUS HAVE THE BALLS TO TAKE ALL AGENCIES IN THIS DEBACLE TO COURT. Trust me I will if needed tie the courts up for the next 20 years to make their lives a living HELL
