It's really not what you do for a living or how much money you make that matters, it's all about what the wife/significant other allows you to do with your money. Lucky for me I've got an understanding fiancee' that allows me to pour thousands of dollars into this crazy hobby of mine.

LoL, no doubt! and in that respect I would have to say that you are the luckiest man on the planet! my girl flips out when I buy too many red bulls cuz she thinks that those are too expensive.

I checked my parameters today and was very suprised to see that nitrates where at under 5ppm and I have yet to do a water change. Hope it stays low!
Here's a quick video clip of the tank

some pics of the maculiceps tang and yel. belly hippo. The mappa puffer didn't look to good before it was shipped so I never received it. Unfortunately it looks like these guys may have velvet. Both are constantly scratching and breathing pretty hard. I think I'm going to start copper treatment soon. Hopefully they'll be ok.

man do your fish love you. they followed you around when you had the camera. That is pretty cool.
I know what you are saying about the money being spent. It was either a big tank around 500 gallons or get my bike and race it. In the winter I wish I had spent the coin on a tank. In the summer Im ready to sell all my tanks and make my bike faster.

It's got to be really hard having two expensive hobbies. I'll tell you what, I probably wouldn't have this tank if I still had my busa. I really miss it!!

Did you check for flukes first? A lot of people confuse the flukes symptoms with Oodinium/velvet and realize it too late. I hope they/'re still in QT. good luck Bio.

Yeah I guess it could be flukes. I'm going to dose with prazipro today and give it some time. I hate using copper unless I really have to. This is why I qt EVERYTHING now. I've dealt with velvet in the past and I'm just petrified of it.

bioneck, just wondering what made you choose the Melichthys species of triggers? why not a picasso or niger, or bluethroat etc..
how is the aggression on the black triggers, cause im looking into getting one. could you post a pic of each of the black triggs (Melichthys indicus, Melichthys Niger) and does one get bigger than the other. awesome tank btw.

Not sure exactly why I chose those type of triggers over the ones you mentioned. I guess because they're more appealing to me maybe
. Not sure I fully understand that question.
I would compare the aggression of the black triggers as to that of a niger. The indicus is a little more aggressive but only because it's bigger. I'm not completely sure which one gets bigger but if I had to guess it would be the indicus. It's definetly more robust than the niger.
Also, if you look through page 2 and 5 you can see close up pics of both triggers.

You got a pretty nice assortment of fish. So how often do you feed them and do you feed the same food to all?

Whoa! It took me like an hour just to read this entire thread.
This is an awesome tank!
Some beautiful corals in there would make it look like the ones in the aquarium! Great work!!!

And yes I do have other tanks. A 250 hex that I'm using as a QT(golden puffer and bariene tang), 120gal qt(fowler's tang and purple tang), 90gal reef, 55 gal FOWLR and a 14 gal biocube. Yeah I know, I'm crazy

seems to me after taking care of a 750, 250, 120, 90, 55, and 14....when the HECK do you have time for the fiancee'? Im starting to think your missing meals and showers to work all that crap in. Im new so im very attentive with my little 90 gal. but that thing keeps me busy all day and im a stay at home mom/wife. So im thinking someone or something is getting neglected!!

Have you thought about getting a showsize angel?
Well I have 3 angels in right now and getting a queen next week. I usually don't buy show size fish, I like watching them grow into a show size.

I actually don't spend too much time working on my tanks. I have great filtration, auto top offs, and timers on all of my tanks. So most of my work is cleaning skimmers, toping off reserve water, and feeding. I actually rarely even do water tests anymore. After doing this for a while, you just kinda just know where your water quality is at.
