Hey just a small update, Paste few days I bought 2 Emerald Crabs, one red and one green. 3 snails and 2 shrimp. I couldnt get a picture of the shrimp right away, there in hiding. I'll post that up sometime in the future. Everything still looks great and healthy.

Also after the new years I'm going to be ordering that reef package from SWF. I'll let everyone know how that turns out

Just got the clean up crew from SWF couple days ago. I purchased the Janitor Reef Package. Everything looks great, and I'm happy about my purchase. Seems like everything lived. Heres a few pics of the package.

Also check out the huge bristle worm in tank!

I also just bought a Blue Hippo Tang from a LFS today and i am currently acclimating the fish right now. I'll post some pictures of him when he gets established in the tank.
I could use some tips on whats the best way of taking care of the little guy and what works and doesnt work.

I hope you are going to QT him. Chances are he is carrying ich, and that is the last thing you want in your tank.

Whats the best way to tell if he is carrying ich. Hes been at the LFS with other fish for while. All the fish including him looked fine.

Best way to tell is quarantine him for 4-5 weeks and observe him. He may not show it for a few days. Just be aware that he will need a much larger tank eventually, these fish grow close to a foot long.

just hope that being in a tank the size of yours isnt too much stress for the tang, cause stress is one of the primary causes of an ich outbreak, they may not look like they have it, but, tangs are ich magnets, an are notorious for coming down with it quicker than anything else. and if he does happen to introduce it into your system, your kinda outta luck on the fish front for the next 6 weeks, youve gotta take all the fish outta your tank an leave it dormant for the next 6-8 weeks to give the ich time to die off for good

Post a picture dude, lets see the little tang. And stand by, some people here will FREAK that you have a blue tang (even if it's 1") or any tang in a 45 gal tank...they are called THE TANG POLICE :)
Oh and one last note, remember when people are pointing the finger at you, there are three pointing back at them! People (me included) tend to harp on things they have made mistakes on.

When I originally started saltwater I actually waited three weeks and then added a clownfish and then added live rock( in that order)! The clownfish ended up doing well he was actually one of my favorite! Well a clownfish is part of the damsel family(and damsels some are hardy)! My tank in review: The fish did fine but after about 4 months with the fish he was lost due to ich!
And even though the fish did fine I do not recommend this! So I would put him in a friends tank or find a nice place for the fish to stay until your tank is ready! If you are desperate you could always ask a LFS to care for the clowns (do not recommend because I do not trust some LFS but if that is all you've got u should maybe try it out!) And if you are absolutely out of places for them to stay then you can keep them in your tank! Hopefully you took the time to read my lengthy story!
Hope it all works out!!
