Thing is QB is a high profile role. They are kind of the face of the team. Tricky PR situation. I guess maybe if you brought him in as a back up (someone mentioned backing up Farve which might be a good plan) and he kept his mouth shut for a couple years riding the bench maybe but remember this JA had issues before the dog fighting garbage, Might be a tall order for him not to run his mouth.
That may not be a really bad idea. For all farve's drama with I'm retiring or not. At LEAST he absolutely loves to play the game of football. Might be good to have some old man rub off on Vick.

Unless he signs in detroit or Oakland, he will get signed by someone for sure. To much talent and he would make a solid back up for any team. He woun't be signed to be a starter I believe...he will be signed as a back up and not be signed making the millions he once was.

I just have some mixed feelings on it......it's kinda like teaching someone if you ever make a mistake..or screw up...why bother paying for it...you're still screwed....

I think, in this case...
He went to prison, he did his time, he suffered his consequences, so sure, he should be able to get a job... Bagging groceries! Parking cars, lawyer, accountant, anything that does not put him in a "hero status" type of job.
He should no longer be a household name, he shouldn't be the example kids look up to.
I can't even remember the guys name who "accidentally" hit a guy who ran in front of his car, then stayed til the police showed up then fully cooperated, and HE is banned from the NFL for good??
I used to joking say that "next year my team would have vick", now the thought makes me sick! Once a schmuck...!!!
In his own words... "He was raised with that type of environment." 2 years of punishment will not undo his upbringing
America is so bleeding heart.

Yes, he served his time but that doesn't mean he should be handed his prior life back as if nothing ever happened. I just don't think he should ever be put in the position where he can make those kinds of mistakes again. He should never again be handed millions of dollars.

Givin what's been released, he would have hit that guy whether he was drinking or not...
Heck, I would have hit that guy if he darted in from of my minivan.
Every action that we "know" of says alchohol didn't impair his judgement"
And even if that were a valid argument, then if Vick had a few beers while he drowned and smashed those animals, it would have made a diff??
I can look at that other guy and see "accident", I look at vick and I see puppy smasher and drowner. I don't know how anyone can't.

I never said I agreed with what he did....I hate the idea of it....
The other guy is not "banned" it is my understanding that he is "indefinitely" suspended.
Which means it can be reviewed at a later time

Not in a case like this...And if more people would ease up on the second chance thing, then all those repeat offenders, wouldn't be repeats.
They wanna put him on the bench as a back-up. If it were as cut and dry an "he did the time..." they'd put him right out on the field. He is that good.
I have zero sympathy for the guy.
The fact that he is now outa prison, is enough of a second chance IMO.
There are plenty of things he can do to pay his bills without his face being on my TV...
I think I mentioned this before, but if this is "how he was raised", then this is his character, and that type of character has no business being idolized...
Any other job, fine, he has to make his way... but why is "second chance" only in reference to the NFL?

If you commit a crime (felony), go to jail, do your time, Do you get to comeback and receive the same position you had before at your job, along with a huge paycheck?

If you were arrested and went to jail for a felony would you expect to get your same job and pay when you served your time?
Well, if you had a skill level that fewer than probably 50 people in the world have you probably would expect to. Pay probably wouldn't be the same but....
