thanks PD im not going to use the same pump cause i have the 14g and that will be a little much for my tank with the PH and i want to keep that in there. Do you have any other suggestions for something around 225gph - 300gph(max)?

The RIO 800 is about 210 GPH and the 1000 is 271. Maxijet also has a few nice ones the 900 is rated at about 230 gph.

Your percs look amazing, atleast in the old pics.
I'm curious how often you feed. I've read in the pocket expert books that they recommend feed multiple times a day for many fish and I've heard others online and in the LFS say they only feed a couple times a week. Would you mind indicating how many and what kind of fish you have, type/brand of food you use, best description of quantity, and how often? thanks

Sure..
OK here goes..IMO and because there are soooo many different opionions about feeding I basically adopted my own schedule based on all I have read. I currently have 2 ocellaris clown fish, one orange and one Black and white. I have a Royal Gramma and my newest addition is a purple fire fish. I had a Midas Blenny up until about 2 weeks ago. She deceided to jump into the back of my tank for the 3rd time and this time she landed on the grate in the middle compartment. Needless to say although the blennys can stay out of the water for a while 10 hours was a bit much. As far as feeding goes my types are Formula 1 by Ocean Nutrition, Salt Water Multi Pack by Sanfransico Bay Brand, Cyclops by the same. The multipack has a variety of foods in it, Marine Cuisine which has Krill Mysis vitamins and minerals, Emerald Entree which includes Krill and Mysis but also a number of different lettuce and some algea. Then threre is Brine shrimp and squid that is also part of the multipack.
My schedule is once a day and that is at night. I always give them Formula 1 but with that I mix in one of the other foods to add variety. Once a week I feed cyclops for my corals. As for quantity, I actually take the time every night and cut slices out of the frozen cubes of food, then I chop the slices up into bite size pieces for the fish. As for quantity, for 4 fish I would have to say 1/4 of a teaspoon of food is a pretty close measurement. It takes about 2 minutes for the fish to consume all the food I place in the tank. Twice a week I place 3 small pieces of raw clam in the tank for my hermits, and every 3 days I feed my anenome shrimp or squid. I hope I answered all your questions if you have any more dont hesitate to ask. Good Luck.

I'm glad you mentioned the anemone. Before I had the percs the anemone would take a peice of shrimp maybe 3/4 of an inch long twice a week. Since the clowns have been there it seems like no matter how big or small the peice is that it won't take it. It will hold it for 5 or 10 minutes, but when I come back it will be somewhere else in the tank. Should I be worried? DO I need to try something else? Do you just use frozen raw shrimp from the grocery or is the a brand specifically made for saltwater animals that you use?
To feed the corals Cyclops, do you use a turkey baster and spot feed or do you use some other method? Which corals do you feed cyclops to, soft, LPS, or SPS?
Last question. Have you been able to find all of these foods at your LFS, one of the big box stores like ***** or Petsmart, or an online vendor?
thanks for all of the info

If your anenome and your clown fish are hosting then most likely the clown fish is feeding the anenome. If not it maybe getting its food from what is blowing around. I would def keep an eye on it though if the clown isnt feeding him. Eating, being inflated and keeping their color are all key indicators of a healthy anenome. They are a tough read and do some weird things, and when they start to fail it can happen quick. My anenome loves clams, I buy the chopped clams from my supermarket, the ones you make chowder with. The squid is from the saltwater Multipack I have. I purchased all my foods from my LFS, I have seen formula 1 at ***** my others I got from more private FS not a chain. But its very popular food I dont think you will have a prob finding it. You can feed your anenome any type of raw fish you like, silver sides, clams, squid, shrimp, mysis, brine what ever you like I have even given mine a large piece of formula 1 on occasion it loves it.
Almost all corals will benifit from Cyclops, I spot feed my gorgonian my plate and my Xenias. Everything else I let the water column filter feed. I use Phyto and Mysis too alternating everyother week. I use a thing called a SeaSquirt to spot feed my corals, it looks like a giant turkey baster but it can extend and retract. There are alot of things to use but I spent the $15 and bought this. There is alot of opionions out there about feeding corals and some people do and some never do. I have found once a week for most of my corals is doing good. Except the gorgonian that needs food IMO more often so I offer a very small amount every 3 days. Hope this helps and Pics are comming today..

1.Will gorgonians cyclops by just feeding the tank?
2.will gorgonians eat marine snow or benifit from it?
or
3.do you have to spot feed them?

Yes they can but I dont want to take the chance with a gorgonian. When the polyups are out it means they are looking for food and the timing isnt always when you are feeding your other corals. Gorgonians are night feeders so spot feeding ensures they are getting what they want. IMO I think its just smart to spot feed them and they are aggressive so they need to be away from other corals. As for marine snow.. Im not sure I know it is used for corals but im not sure if gorgonias use it as part of their diet. I know mysis, baby brine and cyclops are a few of the things they like.

OK HERE ARE MORE PICS
My newest addition after the suicide of my Midas Blenny..
Purple Fire Fish

The new things you find. I have no idea how tube worms aka feather dusters reproduce but the one in the back was purchased the one in front is a BRAND NEW LITTLE GUY..

My new Coral, Purple Brush Gorginan (Muriceopsis flavida)
Photosynthetic and very vibrant purple.

This is my plate coral I have had it a while but its getting bigger and looks really happy.

I have heard of clownfish hosting alot of things but my Xenia seem to want to host my Splitter..go figure

These are 2 Xenias one is very very small on the back of my tank the other is what used to be the small one that attached itself to a piece of LR about 2 months ago... it has litterally tripled in size... I think its cool to see them spread like this.

This is the Hitchhikers section... I have no idea what these specifically are other than tube worms but they are cool....

This guy has been in my tank since the first month there is a small pic of him somewhere. So small i couldnt even get a clear picture of him I have no idea what it is but now hes alot bigger. I think its some type of nudibranch.. but he came on a piece of my LR.

I have no idea what these are but they are cool

Talk about hitchikers this guy has his own rearview mirror...
