I got the brown stuff first all over my rocks; hermits eat that and like the rocks. Snails stay on the glass and in the sand. If you get some extra shells the hermits will leave the snails alone.
Chromes are in the damsel family, just like the clowns are listed with them in my book. They are not the same evil things, just the same family. I have clowns.
Since you have the time to daydream...think of the fish you most want and go from there. For example, I wanted the Hippo tang. I had it in a 55g for two years before it got too big for it. Always go with your favorite first, and then build your stock around it. Be picky.
Also if you are going for a reef, make a cave or large over hang, not all corals want the bright lights and a cave or overhang will allow for a better variety of corals. Now is the time to rearrange the rock if you need to.
