Not trying to steal your thread Buddah!!! Paint job looks SAWEET!!! Just don't forget the next time use Krylon Fusion. It comes in several colors. I would've done mine in a dark navy blue instead of black but in my po-dunk redneck town in the middle-o-nowhere black was the best i could do

thanks! no worries! all comments are welcome! I Looooooove the black look. Who knows, once i get everything up and running i might go dark blue for the next one. But yeah, def going with Krylon next time. It took me FOREVER to paint with the cheap-o brand.

i think i am going to move the tank. I dont want to regret putting it where it is once all the water is in. It is currently in my dining room. But, when you are sitting on the couch you can't see the tank over the table. Curse these one bedroom apartments!!

i think it is going into the living room. once i get rid of the FW tank i have up.. they are going to a new home. :)
I agree about planning ahead. Put that hing where you want it. I have a s9 right now and I have had to move it twice. No more. Next time it gets broke down, everybody is moving into my 75.

The tank looks really nice. I am torn between blue or black on my build. Any way, yours looks really good. Are you using the fresh water tank for a sump? I thought I saw a thread by you on sump plans?

yeah, i am using the FW tank. i am currently trying to find a home for the inhabitants. I read somewhere that as long as i clean it out really good i should be fine. I have had this tank since it was new, i never put anything but water in that tank. no medicines, i had good luck with that tank. Should it be ok since i have never put any medicines in there?
did you get a chance to see that thread about the sump?

It should be just fine.

Yes, SCSInet was telling you they weren't tall enough. I will post in there so there is no confusion. Give me just a min.

Hey just found your thread. Nice deal!
I hate to start an argument but I found aquarium silicon at Home Depot. You have to look in the paint section. It comes in some small pain in the @$$ tubes.
Anyway, will probably tag along from here. Good luck.

no argument here :) I just got back from home depot and got some silicone actually. It's the one that posiden suggested. i am going to use with with a caulking gun.
And i got the rest of my supplies for the sump tank.

sooooo....i am pretty bummed. The only way I was going to be able to use the 30 gal for a sump was if were able to get a new stand. That has been ruled out

I can only fit 2 - 10gal tanks under my current stand. I went to my LFS with this 'concept' drawing and they said it would work just fine. Since i value yall's opinion, i would love to hear what you think. thanks!

You could join the two ten gallon tanks using a bulkehead and some pvc. This way you could use one 10g for the fuge and the other could be for the skimmer and return pump. less plumbing and youll only need one pump but you'll have to drill the glass on the 10g's

The issue I see with your current design is, if one of the pumps should quit pumping water. The other one will be forced to run dry ruining that pump. Or worse a flood of one till the other one runs dry.
I like the idea of drilling the tanks so they can be plumbed together. This takes out a lot of variables.
What happened to the sump you pictured?

well....i was planning on getting a better stand so i could put my 30 gal underneath. But, that's not an option right now. but, i am getting frustrated enough that i might go out and buy a new stand anyway. Just can't find any stands that i like
