Those fixtures are reslly awesome. I looking into those but got min instead. The outer orbits lights are MH and actinic right? (I have looked at so many, I can't remember.) Those were what we were looking at. They seemed really nice and a good value, we just like the hamiltons better.

Ok everyone, the 75g doesnt seem to be coming along too fast. The man isnt emailing me back and I am watching as the deals pass by. So, my question is:
There is a 50g breeder on CL now (36x18x18) with the drilled tank *with a calfo overflow), two stands, all plumbing, a two-bulb florescent light, and 29g sump with baffles. Selling for $220. What do you think about this? Should I wait for my original plan or go with this?
The options are:
wait for a drilled 75g
get this 50g breeder
get whatever size tank I like and have it drilled.
Opinions? I know its my decision, but I like to hear others. Especially here.

No, I have no idea whats happening with this man. He emailed me sunday saying that he was picking up the last pieces of his 125 this weekend (today and tomorrow) and the tank would be ready. He said he would email me wednesday. I emailed him tuesday and gave him my number. He never called me or emailed me back. A week prior (9/2/09), he told me all he had to do was get a replacement filter for the 125 and that he was getting it that thursday (9/3). Well, no word on that after repetitive emails. I dont know what to think about this and I just dont want to wait forever. I know patience is key, but I wont want to be worked over either..

What is your opinion on the 50g?

I say if you want to start now then get the 50 gal. but dont be sad later when you decided that it is too small for you and you did actually want the 75. Look for more deals and try to find one that fits you and your time table. e-mail that guy and tell him that your "walking away from this deal" if he doesn't get the tank to you soon.

I should have thought about that.
I really wanted something the size of the 75. I have a 55 now and I like the size of it. 75 would just be better because of the extra width. Im not sure what I will do, this seems like a good deal, but Im sure there will be more in the future..like you said, I dont want to get something I wont be satisfied with in the future.
So frustrating.

Looking back at my emails, I have noticed that he usually emails on mondays and tuesdays. So, I will let this ride until tuesday to see if he gets back to me. I will email him one more time tomorrow to see if he emails me back by tuesday.

Sorry to hear about your troubles mark. It really sucks when people "craig's list" you and pull that behavior...
It happens when I sell things and buy things but it's worth it to list on a free sight that gets a lot of face time.
I am sure that if this one isn't the tank, you'll come across a huge deal and grab it... Wish you lived here. The LFS I go to has customers come and saw "if you will take down my tank and remove the livestock and get it out of here, we will just let you take everything. There have been 4 really large tanks for sale, all ready to go for like 300 bucks or so at this LFS in the last month! (It's because people are getting foreclosed on so much here in PHX.)
I say wait on the breeder... Why buy something that is 5 gallons smaller... ?

I liked the footprint better of the 50g. I think I will wait for this one though. I am already having upgrade syndrome, so I know if I were to get this, I would want to have a bigger one by the first of the year, if not sooner
. When I get my saltwater tank going, I will most likely be getting rid of my 55g tank as well as my 47g tank to have the funding as well as the room for the tank. I am thinking about putting it downstairs now, instead of upstairs (I didnt think this was a great idea..). I have a 36g in-wall tank my cichlids could go into so I could get rid of the 47 freestanding tank. This will also help with buying the equipment.
Sorry. Somehow or another, I got to babbling. Typing exactly what ran through my mind, basically
.

I didn't realize those were fresh. hehe...
Yeah that makes sense..... I would just spend the $$$ and convert the inwall to a saltwater system!! (How cool would that be...)
hehe I remember the days when I had cichlids.... So very long ago... lol

My cichlids are actually high-end brackish at the moment. The in-wall is just a 37g eclipse system. I call it in-wall because...well..its in the wall. But its not like built into the wall..if that makes sense. It has mollies and guppies in it at the moment..been up and self-sustained for 8 years.

Oh so is mine. And a tad algae-filled as its to the right of a large window. Ours came free, fully stocked. Our swords (plants) are, seemingly, living surprisingly well with the salinity change. Up to 1.018 now and theyre showing no signs of decline. Im sure they will, so when they do, I will take them out and put them in the 55g. Ill try to get a pic of it tomorrow to post here. I do have one of my bleached birdsnest with one of the yellow cichlids I can post. I dont know the species.

Yeah..the tank was originally supposed to be a low-end brakish tank with bumblebee gobies, flounders, dragon goby, and a few other little critters. We didnt know it was coming with a fill tank of cichlids.
. Good thing we have had them in the past.
