The one thing I have found with SW gadgets is ....THE INSTRUCTIONS STINK....if you even get any

I guess all these sw equipment manufacturers just think we should know how to hook up and operate this stuff

Nice Job, it looks good! So what did the over all foot print turn out to be? Like how long at it's longests point and how wide at its widest?

i shut it down for the night i do not need it running wild on me, the old one was bad about running wild and overflowing and pulling all the water out of the sump
all i did was open the flow up just a bit.

What's the problem?.....I know after I do a water change, it takes a little while to get in full swing......It also takes me a little to get the water levels readjusted

ok, i do two changes a week about (5%), i shut the system down pull the water from the DT, i add water to the sump, if i fill the sump to the top i can just start back up and not have to "start, stop, start, stop, and so on and so forth, just one restart, works for me and i have the time for two a week.
so to the skimmer have to shut it off so it will not overflow (had to do that with the old one) so started it up and it overflowed bad
so turned it down and now having trouble getting to set.

HMMM....I never turn my skimmer off when I do water changes.

When I do w/c's I pull from the DT...and replace in the dt.....the only thing I turn off is the return pump in the sump...and as soon as the water gets high enough it goes right back on

why do you do 2 5% changes 2x a week....why not do 1 10% once a week....or 15% bi-weekly??????

as for turning the skimmer off if i don't the water level will get to high and it will overflow, becouse the water will rise in the sump/skimmer.
i could pull water off the DT for a bet and then shut the sump pumps off
i'll try that saturday
as for two a week i have not had a very good time at work for the last six to eight months, long day and lots of them. the tank has not had me for a bit. not working as of (aug. friday the 13th) but that is not a bad thing, was not going to stay there after aug. the wife has a very very very good job and i ask her about two months ago if my job came to an end what she wanted me to do, and she said, WHAT EVER YOU WANT TO DO,
so i take care of the house and the girls, oh AND THE TANK
so, two a week, i have a bad alge problem
i only did changes, did i do changes, no just top offs, you could not even see in the tank.( there is no kick youself in the butt smiley
) but it is looking a bit better

OK...if you are having an algae problem....2 small w/c's is not better....do 2 bigger ones....LOL...ok back to topic

My water goes in....and out in the same section of my sump.....so while I am doing my w/c, the same water is floating around in there

Doesn't yours go in and out of the skimmer in the same section too????? I have to go look back at your pic

yes but, after shutting the pumps off the water level in the sump will go to high, and make the skimmer overflow

OK....what happens if you have a power failure????? You may have another issue....

You have to set your sump level to be able to accommodate the amount of water that will still come from your dt...until the water in the dt gets below the overflow teeth...IF THE RETURN PUMP STOPS.....IE/power failure

OMG....I know what I am trying to tell you....LOL....Is it making any sense to you
